Absent Humanity contributes nothing but both informative and thoughtful posts. One of my favorite people here.

    Fight’s not over yet though.

While everyone needs to keep up the pressure, those with the most potential leverage in the situation are people in Maine, Alaska, North Dakota & Louisiana.

The problem in Alaska is that the one group of people that can be solidly counted on to vote for Democrats is the Native Alaskan indigenous population. They have no dog (sled or otherwise) in the healthcare fight because they have their own free healthcare system which includes local clinics as well as a fully equipped hospital in Anchorage.

Don’t count on those clowns in Louisiana for anything.

    Isn’t this the plan though?

Even though many deny it law makers know that the 21st century will have job scarcity combined with climate change.

They are just remembering the toold of quiet genocide used in the past.

Concentrate a population, then deny them health care and other services and watcheck them die. Great example is the afro-argentine genocide.

It works best on easily identifable groups, that are historical scapegoats.

The mind boggles. Our country is in so many ways an embarrassment. We are the last industrialized country that does not provide single payer health care. We spent several times per capita what comparable countries such as Canada or England do, for worse results.

Republicans want us to move backward as a country. They truly are in a reactionary, anti-poor, anti-POC (etc.) mood. How sad.

Healthcare isn’t voting rights; you can’t just take it away from black people!

Great piece. Black people are also more likely to have serious mental illness (NAMI says 20% more likely than general population), another callous omission of Trumpcare.
