Slater’s attorney Catherine Foti said that the newest claims “are simply more baseless allegations.”

Ha ha ha ha ha. She’s so funny. Thirteen people tell stories of racial discrimination at a network that hires on-air “talent” based on their ability to blow racist dog-whistles, and she is going with “baseless.” This Foti lady should maybe think about a second career in stand-up. She is hilarious.

Can someone ELI5 the concept of a dog-whistle as you’ve used it here. I tried googling with no success.

Also, it should go without saying, but: hahahaha, fuck Fox.

Dog whistle: a sound that is heard by your intended audience, but missed by others.

So, “urban” means black public-housing dweller. “single urban mother” means black welfare queen. “Ethnic” means someone from non-European culture which is vulgar, and so on.

So, you might hear urban and think “a description of population density as opposed to suburban or rural,” they intend to mean it as “black people living in crime-infested cities, gangs, drugs and violence.”

Is that clear? I kind of word-barfed.

I’ve had the EEOC investigate an employer I wanted to sue for discrimination but they denied my claim. My lawyer said the issue was more defendable as workplace bullying rather than racism and age-ism. Unfortunately workplace bullying isn’t covered in the Civil Rights act.
