    If the record is sealed and expunged, that means it won’t hurt her future job prospects or college applications, theoretically?

    If so, that sounds like it might be a good deal for her. I hope that it works out for the best.

      Yeah. Because kids who grow up in violent homes are totally aware that they can “just walk away.” Living in fear for your life every day from infancy will absolutely allow you to be able to make such a decision. I am SURE resources were being thrown at her in order to help her just walk away and lead a successful life on her own(eyeroll). What she did was rational and absolutely appropriate for the type of threat she was attempting to remove herself from under. This is one brave kid.
