She is just a girl. She should not have had to be a hero.

Literally the only thing I can think when I see this story. Bresha should never been in such an abusive, dysfunctional situation. And I am so hurt for her that this was the only out she saw.

I hope Bresha is released Monday. And that the entire family undergoes intensive PTSD therapy. Immediately.

So agreed. I don’t want to lay blame on the mother for suffering from battered person/Stockholm syndrome but when I read that the restraining order was dropped because she reconciled all I could think is that if she’d found the strength to not let him back into their lives this wouldn’t have happened.

Bresha’s case is haunting and I hope she is released on Monday. The sad thing is that there are so many other Bresha Meadows out there, because we as a country have decided that jail is the answer to all of society’s ills- especially when it comes to POC. And I doubt 45 or Sessions are going to do anything to make that better over the next 4 years.

Where are all the second amendment fanboys who are always going on about using guns for protection? Where are all the assholes who justify cops shooting black men because the cop felt afraid or threatened?

Gee, can’t imagine why they don’t have shit to say now.../sarcasm

For the record, I am a supporter of the second amendment and I think this girl did nothing wrong. I think it’s a damn shame that it came down to that, and that the system is so broken that she felt she had no other recourse, but I think she was justified in defending her family.

But I’m guessing I’m not the type of gun nut you’re referring to since I also support gun control and think police brutality is one of the top issues in our country right now. (And yeah, those types of gun nuts are usually racist pieces of shit.)

Yeah, I’m the same. I support the right to own guns, but also support logical restrictions.

I understand the concept of justice, but in this case there should have been a thorough investigation and then she and the rest of her family should have been put into therapy. How does the prosecutor sleep at night knowing they are compounding a horrific situation???

    This is so fucking heartbreaking.
