2017 and there’s a need to re-justify the value and efficacy of public education. Wtf.

I suppose America is returning to a complete segregationist school approach. That picture alone is evidence of that.

The country never truly integrated. Oh, there were small changes in big cities.. and then the white flight fairies came and whooosh! All the white kids were in the suburbs.. and then when those schools started seeing too many dark kids.. the charter school fairies came and... whoooosh! All the white kids were taken to the school land of no accountability and/or to their evil twin schools - homeschooling! So that picture is normal and has been for 400 years because white parents, the liberals too, don’t want little lindsay, heather, becky, and declan to sit next to any of those inferior kids in the picture.. all the while they tell their 1 black friend how much the loved Obama, Michael Jordan, and now Jordan Peele.

Do you guys have a tipline? I was listening to my podcast backlog today and heard two pieces that your writers could probably have some fun with. The first was a couple historians doing the whole press tour thing with the New Books network for “

Black Germany: The Making and Unmaking of a Diaspora Community, 1884-1960

” (GODDAMNIT KINJA) and the other was a historian talking about regional trends in the Black abolition movement (and early civil rights). I bet you could get at least one of them on the horn for an interview.

called for a moratorium on charter school expansions until more data and insight on their overall impact is available and reforms designed to increase transparency and accountability were implemented.

Yes, that’s nice. *pats on head* Cute, even, but DeVos is in charge now, so you can kiss all that “common sense approach” thing good-bye.
