It’s hard to find a birthdate for anyone who was a teenage or young man during WWI. My great grandad lied about his birthday when he enlisted for WWI. He was only 14 but lied and said he was 16. Consequently there are several official documents giving different birthdays for my great grandad. Luckily he survived the war and lived to a very old age (98 y/o) so we knew his correct age.
