      I disagree. I think we need more. I think the racial makeup of a police dept should somewhat reflect the racial makeup of the area they’re policing. I figure that if the cops live in the community they work in, it might be easier for them to see the citizens as people.

      In a lot of areas, white police work in ‘the hood’ and then go back home to the ‘burbs at night. They treat going to work like going into a war zone and that makes it easier to dehumanize people which feeds their “us against them” mentality and leads to barrel roll cops, and police shootings. If you live in the community you work in, you have skin in the game.

    THAT’LL teach you to have an opinion, lady! How DARE you say anything on your own personal social media account without first consulting the Rulebook written and enforced by people who can’t be bothered to pretend they don’t hate your very existence as a black woman! They must be so, SO upset that they “allowed” you to get a job as a police officer.

    I wonder how many times a day she has to hear the accusations of “affirmative action” thrown at her.

    Everything about the phrase “black lives matter” is a threat to the police.

    Law enforcement have spent decades tasked with the primary goal of maintaining white supremacy. To make the statement that their victims lives matter is beyond dangerous in their eyes.

    To a cop, a black person who declares their right to live is a black person not significantly cowed by their threat of force.

    “Equality” requires paving a legal freeway through police unions, protections and their pension fund.
