...doesn’t accuse Mckesson of throwing anything at officers, but says he “incited the violence” on behalf of Black Lives Matter.

Oh for fuck sake. The idea of a police office suing the public that he is supposed to serve is almost laughable if this wasn’t the reality that we are living in. Police have a union right? And good health insurance? That’s where you get your money for your bills, dummy. You don’t sue citizens because you were injured in the line of duty. GTFO.

So I’m going to assume that you don’t believe in the constitution and the right to due process? If you incite violence in any way then that goes against the ideology of the 1st Amendment. Just as yelling fire in a crowded theatre would go against it. If “you” “belong” to a group of people then thats the “group” of people you represent. Therefore you, are held responsible for the actions of that group. That my friend is the society of identitarian politics we live in. I fully expect the backlash I’m going to get for writing this comment. I want the intolerance to show as much as possible.

I just have to say that, yes, I do believe in the constitution. What a ridiculous thing to say.

DeRay was originally arrested for “obstructing a highway of commerce”, along with other groups. Yes, groups. The one DeRay represents was not the only one there. DeRay was perisocoping the whole damn thing. I remember this. He was just protesting, and showing how the police where trying to provocate them. He wasn’t inviting no damn riot.

Charges were dropped against him as well as others. And in fact, Louisiana had to settle with the activists for violating their rights. So don’t come at me with this “I guess you don’t know the constitution” bs. This cop, like others, view BLM and people like DeRay as menaces and overall violent. This lawsuit is just out to prove that. And if it is allowed to proceed and this cop wins, what a horrible chilling effect it will have on those who wish to exercise their first amendment rights.

If McKesson was giving orders like “Hey everybody, pick up something hard and throw it at a cop,” the this is a good lawsuit. Of course everyone knows that didn’t happen.

If he was givving orders like “Turn left on main street, now shout along with me ‘hands up, don’t shoot’” then this lawsuit is utter horseshit.

You are a cop. You work with lots of cops. Maybe do that investigating thing, find the jerk who threw the rock, arrest them and sue them if you like.

McKesson’s always been very careful, even when not all other people speaking out have been, about choosing his words and being consistent in his message and personal methods.

You might say that’s his philosophy, and maybe that’s true, but you also have to think it’s so he has a strong defense when these sorts of bullshit lawsuits start happening.

It’s funny how cops shooting unarmed American Citizens is NOT considered “inciting violence”. (They are all HEROS).

What a charade. Naturally this anonymous cop, hiding in fear like a small child behind his lawyer (and the entire justice system) is likely firmly against body-cameras. I can clearly see why.
