... a guarantee to replace 18,000 lead and galvanized service lines in the city.

No, wait, let me guess. “Eventually.”

Eventually- with almost half the money coming from the Obama Administration money set aside in the continuing resolution that the Republicans are going to let expire on April 29. With other funding from the State of MI which is required to set aside $10 million from EPA funding. EPA funding from Cheetolini’s budget. Right. That’s happening.

There is still the issue of the people who don’t have a properly installed filter and also do not have a way to go pick up the free water that is allotted to them by the city and state.

Replacing the lines is a long-term project, and in the interim, what are those people supposed to do?

These people can “Call for CORE” at (810) 238-6700 for instructions on how to obtain and maintain filters or they can pick filters up at the PODs, City Hall, or other sites.

For the time being, they can also call 211 to schedule home water delivery, although this service may stop this summer if the January-June testing cycle shows that the water is still clean (the last July-Dec cycle showed exactly that)

We will replace the pipes so that the sludge flows freely.
