By no means am I condoning driving under the influence, and I’m sorry to hear that there were injuries as a result of someone’s recklessness; however, how does one get cited for public intoxication if they’re a passenger? Was there something that happened after the crash?

this is what I came down to say. The only thing I can think of is that maybe since this all occurred a handful of hours ago, they booked him on public intoxication and still have him in the drunk tank

Simple, he was there with the drunk driver and had drugs on him. Way too visible of an accident scene to flee. Cops found drugs, match lit. Now they can charge you with anything else on top of that, they own you.

This could be problematic for Boykin. He was given 1 years probation last summer for his arrest following a Bar Fight in San Antonio where he inadvertantly hit a cop while throwing his hands around. Despite that issue, which the Seahawks knew about, he still managed to get signed to a 3 year deal and was Russell Wilson’s primary backup. If he gets his probation revoked and has to serve time, his immediate career may be in jeopardy.

That said someone will sign him once the dust settles because despite two alcohol related incidents in a two year span, at least he stood up and honored the flag of this country when the national anthem was played. So we know he is not a MONSTER.
