This is driving me crazy! That asshole can only operate when he is in a position of making Obama out to be a villain. Fucking douchebag.

Just like all GOP. They controlled the entire government (like they do today) from 2000-2008. Look at the state of the country in 2008. Crashed economy, wars everywhere, trillions in debt, trillions in wealth wiped out. Yet instead of working with Democrats and cleaning up their messes, they actively opposed doing anything once they gained power in 2010-2016, choosing instead to tear down and complain about everything the grownups were doing to fix the problems the GOP caused. So America gives them back control of the entire government (WHY??), and they immediately show they have no idea what they are doing...again.

Oh, they know exactly what they’re doing. The problem is that you’re approaching this from the perspective that assumes that “govern effectively” is what they want to do.

Their whole strategy is to undercut government as much as possible, to justify their position that everything is better if it’s run by the market. Their strategy is to be a self-fulfilling prophecy: government bad, privatization good!

“Oh, are the programs we’ve criminally underfunded not filling the roles they’re supposed to? Has the government failed you? What a surprise! Well, lucky you, the GOP is now providing you a choice in the form of paying these fine gentlemen over here for that very service you’re seeking! And no, the fact that they pay hilarious sums of money into our campaigns has nothing to do with this!”

And they’re winning! The protections in place preventing the wealthy from preying on the poor have been falling away for 30 years.

Both with Trump and the GOP in general, we really need to stop framing this as a “god look how incompetent they are!” They are anything but incompetent. They are doing exactly what they want to do. The issue is that they’re not working for you or me.

Someone commented on another thread a week or so ago: “Keep my president’s name out of your motherfuckin mouth!” That pretty much sums it up for me.

Trump lied about Obama spying on in. There, I said it. He also lied about Obama’s birth certificate, that Mexico would pay for the wall, that everyone would have health insurance, and that he would bring back coal and American industry. Also, 70% of the other things that spew out of his fast-food hole.

    Someone, AKA Anyone.

    Now, Anyone is saying it.

I’ve been thinking about this and coming up with nothing.

Why are news media going out of their way to NOT say the word “lied”?

I keep hearing them use the word “untruthful”. Well yes, what he said was untruthful.

But that means he fucken lied!

Because they’re tap-dancing on the head of a rhetorical pin. “Lied” means he meant to deceive, whereas “untruthful” means he could have been mistaken.

Me, I think he was lying like a dog.

Lots of people lie. I want to know why Trump isn’t being charged with libel (or do tweets count as slander)?

I believe Obama would have to make that complaint personally, since Trump’s claim attacks his character only. I could be wrong, but the actual act of saying something fucked up without providing supporting evidence is not a crime, in and of itself (free speech and all). But, damn if Trump and his outside-the-line colorin’ ass supporters aren’t testing my patience with that amendment.

“One of the things I’m going to do if I win, and I hope we do and we’re certainly leading. I’m going to open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles  tweets we can sue them and win lots of money. We’re going to open up those libel laws,” Trump said.

Wonder if that’s still going to happen.

Investigating Trump’s claims appears to be much easier than A LOT of things grown ups should do. Off the top of my puny head: calling out lying, calling out bs, investigating and formal inquiries into Russian collusion, cheating on taxes, actually realizing an America First budget throws America first off a cliff vs party victories.

Maybe they all grew up with a black mama and grandmama and could get popped for saying “lie”?
