The Trump Administration is what Martin Luther King was talking about when he spoke on the 3 evils of society. They can’t even answer the simple question of: what’s to hide? For me tho I think his administration is really aiming for a corporate take over of America. Trumpcare should of been an eye opener for people(it wasn’t because so many are uninformed) about that. Anyway, if you have the time everyone’s google John Conyers(a black politician) and his Hr 676 healthcare for everyone bill. Force your reps to support it

Congressman Conyers has also asked the DOJ for ALL the paperwork for ALL the open investigations under ALL the fired U.S. Attorneys that were in ANY way related to the current Administration / Defenestration ... I suspect in part because no President has previously dismissed U.S. Attorneys with pending and open investigations, and top FOX executives just went into grand jury inquiries yesterday in what was an open investigation into FOX, possibly on criminal charges related to securities fraud, over which Preet Bharara’s SDNY had jurisdiction:

I think 45 THINKS he played Maddow but I think she won this round. Here’s why: 45 may have leaked and then watched her run up saying she was going to release them. So 45 leaked them to beat her to the story. Seems like she got played, huh?

Nope. 45 just proved that he can release his returns and there’s nothing preventing him at all. He just proved it. It was always a lie about the IRS audit preventing him and various other excuses that have now been revealed for certain as excuses. Also, it’s only 2 pages from 7 years ago. That begs more questions and more attention on his taxes. His worshipers won’t get it, of course, but Maddow doesn’t pander to them (lolz), she’s getting after Dems tbh, who are lazy ass lazy asses doing a whole lot of nothing. Except the black pols and especially Conyers, as @Roo says below. It’s just starting.

The White House then outlined the contents of the tax return, which revealed that Trump paid $38 million in taxes on a reported income of $150 million dollars.

    and

Johnston noted that Donald and Melania Trump paid the same amount in taxes that he and his wife did, except the Johnstons made $400,000 a year, and the Trumps made $418,000 a day.

I think you need to do some editing, unless the Johnstons really did pay a marginal tax rate of 10,000%.

That notwithstanding, kudos to David Cay Johnston and Rachel Maddow, even if it was a bit overhyped.

He’s talking about the tax rate. And it doesn’t make sense that someone making $418,000 a day is paying the same tax rate as someone making $400,000 a year.

Yup — I was pointing out the error.

Only about 3.5% would have been the effective tax rate for Trump’s return, without the Alternative Minimum Tax. Trump is against the Alternative Minimum Tax. We see why.

Man I’m not into conspiracy theories but Trump totally leaked this himself. 2 pages from a random year that makes him look good because it shows he actually paid taxes,  with no source of income, and nothing else remotely meaning full. Maddow got played. I hope at least she realizes she got used and gets angry about it.

Let’s assume that Trump is a Russian mob stooge.

So? What the hell are you going to do about it?

This is not me dismissing it as irrelevant. This is not me dismissing these “facts” as being fake news. This is me asking the people who read these articles and respond with all the fervor they can muster over the interwebz an honest question.

What the hell are you going to do about it?

Sure, we can sit here and knobslob (or punch gummy bears if that’s your preference) but all this blustering is worth nothing without every last one of us going somewhere, doing something, screaming something at someone.

I live in Idaho. I-DA-HO. Look at the map, we’re so red you’d think we were the floor of a Tarantino set. I have no chance of winning an election but I’ll be damned if I don’t put my money where my mouth is. You know how expensive it is to run a campaign? No? I just figured it out and I sure as hell don’t have that kind of money but I’m gonna sink whatever dimes I have and beg for the rest. Why? Because I’ll be god damned if these monsters are going to destroy my country while I sit behind a computer screen and bark at the moon.

If you’re not going to put up, then shut the hell up. If you’re unwilling to be publicly vilified for the values of your fellow people, then your interweb spewings are just that, spewings. Of no more value than anyone else’s spewings, dependant on the mob to vindicate your ideology.

Here’s how it works. You show up, you stand up, you speak up, and (the hard part) you shut up (i.e. you listen). That is how we take our country back from these soulless fuckers.

I fear that sets the bar too low for heroism. Honest cops and firefighters, servicemen and women, activists and organizers. Those are the people I would consider heroes.

Anyone can do what I’m doing. I’m just trying to convince people it’s not as hard as they’d imagine.

I’m hesitant to call this a win. Now Trump has ammo that the media is out to get him given the return is fairly innocuous. No one will care about the “should have released it himself” angle and it’ll all play as Maddow trying to make a mountain from a molehill. And just when she’s been doing record well with viewers and showing some real journalism...boom. Something too tempting to resist, add some over-sensationalizing, and we have solid “liberal media bias” for the GOP to rally againstno matter what truths come out for a while.

Yea. I’m not sure what the big reveal was here. He paid about 25% of his income in taxes. Low? yes! Scandalously low? I don’t think so. It seems to be in line with level of taxes paid by other “rich assholes” even if it took the AMT to get him there. Like you I worry about how this will be perceived. All in all, I don’t think this gun is even lukewarm let alone smoking.

That “ammo” only works on idiots and idiots were already convinced simply because Trump told them so. He doesn’t need to prove anything to them in the same way that he can just declare that Obama is a felonious thug without any supporting evidence. They do not live in a world where facts matter.

It’s incredible watching Trump walk into trap after trap every time.

Here, Maddow tweets out she has Trump returns. Then a little bit later clarifies what she has.

I don’t remember the specific timing, but with how quickly the White House raced to beat the story to the press....they *immediately* tell everyone that what Maddow has is legit.

And that’s before Maddow has even gone live. Meaning the White House was kind enough to confirm both the docs in her hand *and* validate the source. Which means we can likely expect more of these to start trickling out.

As for if 45 himself let them out? I want to believe that, but the last time his tax returns came out we all suspected it was Marla Maples.

And as Maddow pointed out, 2005 was the year he married Melania. And she filed jointly with him that year. Meaning she has access as well.

Meanwhile, Agent Orange goes on Twitter this morning to squeeze out this turd.

Which is pointless because the White House already confirmed the documents last night.

    Trump leaked this:

    • Only enough of the return to not show source of income (Russian banks?)
    • One year, in which he did pay some $$
    • Is stamped “client copy.”
    • Can now fake outrage over invasion of privacy, etc.
    • Confirmed returns were real in about 2 seconds when they could have “no confirmation or denial” this story to death.
    • For one day, we’re not talking about 14 million people losing their healthcare next year.
    • Maddow is getting played like a fiddle. She should have held up the paper, said: “looks like Trump wants to talk about these two pages, not the 14 million people about to lose insurance in 2018, and the thousands of those people likely to die. So, let’s talk about TrumpCare for a while.”

So, they knew what info she had before she reported it? And they willingly published his tax return after MONTHS of excuses, denials, etc.? And this is the FIRST thing “leaked” about Trump that he hasn’t denied or said is a lie?

I don’t have enough red flags on hand for this story.

Oh, I just had an epiphany! When he said he was going to “clear the swamp”, he meant he was going to clear it of all the honest folks. (Face palms) Why should I care about 2005 tax returns, I’m more interested in the last 10 years—2005 is probably his cut off before his business dealings with the Russians and the business he’s doing in the majority-Islamic countries that didn’t make his ban hit-list.
