    Hm.

    Well.

Benedict Donald has threatened Chicago specifically, and Chris Hayes is going in there for one of his town halls. (I’m hoping that one goes a little better than the one where he decided to have Bernie on as a guest in Wisconsin.)

I guess we’ll see what happens. Some of us’ll be over here, trying to light a fire under the leadership to get moving sooner than 2018, since we’re not assuming that if we don’t do all we can now, we’re guaranteed to have any kind of planet left in 2018, the way Benedict Donald and his Pandemonium Shadow Show are going.

I wonder what the California leadership thinks of this speech of his ...

Winning on the crushed backs of Black people has been part of the playbook since 1619.

So Rahm’s winning proposal is swallow a Xanax and this:

putting moderate candidates such as veterans, football players, sheriffs and business people up in Republican districts

This sounds like something out of the Chappaqua Chamberlains’ playbook. Hey let’s just be what moderate republicans used to be, get us some tough on crime and defense talk, that’ll bring things back to the middle. Sure Rahm, whatever. The right has gone past anything we would have recognized as even far right a year ago, off an orange cliff, into a lava-filled ocean and is headed out to sea. Reeling them back into just to the shore will take a decade or more. Putting up sheriffs and business people, Rahm? The millenials will be headed for the Libertarian and Green exits before you can say Seven Hundred and Sixty Two.

“It ain’t gonna happen in 2018,” Emanuel said. “Take a chill pill, man. You gotta be in this for the long haul.”

That’s a nice defeatist attitude you have there. With a plan like that, no wonder you think we’d lose big time in 2018.

Even if we do have no success in 2018, refusing to even try to improve things during the mid-terms isn’t going to fucking help you dipshit.

Every time you lose an election to the far right and put up moderate candidates in response, this country slips further and further right. It’s funny how the strategy seems to be to trick the most people on the right into voting for someone who will enact the liberal agenda, instead of striving for fair and honest representation of the people. If we did that, liberals would be in power because there are simply more of them.
