Really over lefties who are impressed by this sort of thing. Like, he’s not doing this to raise awareness of America’s history, he’s doing it to justify his Pesudo-Putin act. It’s not so much “who are we to judge this other country” as it is “lots of racists and sociopaths have run this country before, now check out what I’m gonna do.”

“spokesman for white America Bill O’Reilly”

I am white as is my family and I can assure you he is not our spokesman. In fact I may have to file a defamation of character suit over this.

To be fair, he’s the spokesman for people who proudly declare themselves ‘White America”, as opposed to “an American who is white”.

Hah, it’s sad that that is a distinction that needs to be made. I’m definitely in the “American who is white” camp, since I’m constantly horrified over “White America”.

Sure it’s true that the US has enforced oppressive power using violence, but in saying it outright he invalidates the polite hypocrisy that is required to grease the wheels of international diplomacy.

Plus, there’s still a difference between the above and all of Putin’s critics who have strangely turned up dead (mostly with heart attacks) in the past couple weeks.

Did that guy who is the deputy resistance leader to the resistance leader (he’s murdered or attempted to murder enough people I’m having a hard time keeping count) make it this time? I heard on the news Putin poisoned him (or the FSB, or it’s strongly suspected but not confirmed that they’re behind the attempts) not once, but twice.

      Yeah.

It’s going to be pretty hilarious if this is the thing the Repubs break with him over.

It’s not funny yet. Not till McConnell and Ryan are out of there, at the very least.

They are going to stick it out and allow him to sign all the hugely unpopular legislation they would like to pass, then turn on him. Then they can tell their base a half truth about whose fault the mess is.

Next breaking news item: Trump and Republicans are starting to realize that repealing a law that is loaded with Republican ideas (even if it was championed by the Black Guy) is probably a bad idea:

America is not innocent, certainly. However, there is a big difference between acknowledging our many moral failings and suggesting we are morally equivalent to Putin’s dictatorship and his murderous thugs. Unlike Russia, we have freedom of press, free speech, largely fair and free elections, independent judiciary, we haven’t invaded and annexed any neighboring countries in many years, we actually make some effort to avoid civilian casualties, etc.

In my opinion, he’s probably referring to the Drone Program. It’s just about pinning blame on Obama.

The all or nothing, this or that, team x or team y compartmentmentalizing of our lives do not work.

O’Reilly never has and never will speak for me. :-)

I loved this editorial piece and hate that I missed Mr. Trump uttering those words.
