    Ryan Lochte lies about being mugged in Brazil while representing our country in the Olympics. He gets touted as a survivor by the same “reporter” that Trump disclosed his sexual assault tactics to. He gets a reality show.

    Jussie Smollett lies about being the victim of a hate crime and gets indicted for a felony within a month’s time.

    I’m not only bothered by the double standard but also that Jussie really thought he was that girl. You really thought this country’s fuckery train was going to pull the emergency brakes for you? In Chicago? Mmm.

      This was a giant international scandal, Ryan Lochte is now universally regarded as a moron, and he lost all his sponsorships worth many millions of dollars. The only reason he wasn’t charged by the Brazilians is he fled the country.

      His reality show also pre-dated these events by two years.

    Religion created a devil because it was necessary for the survival of religion. (For believers) If one were to accept that all people are created in the image of God - who is deemed perfect - ipso facto we, too, would be perfection because perfection only begets perfection. If that’s the case, how do we explain all of the heinous horrible shit that humans do to one another? Must be some outside influence to cause this, right? Enter: the Devil, Satan, Lucifer. The devil made us do it. It’s not my fault, it’s the devils fault. Same logic appears here. Only the devil is racism. And melanin. Blame the colored folks. They are the reason for all the evils of the world. Doesn’t matter if they are involved or not in the heinous shit, THEY are the reason I did what I did. It’s the reason we get watched in the store. It’s why celebrities get accused of shoplifting in Barney’s - with receipts. Why State Attorney Generals get profiled by their own police department. It’s why Michael Clark Duncan was in the Green Mile. That’s why the police will initially believe them, because they share that belief as well. It will always happen in countries where the melanated folk are not running the country. Always. Outside of Jussie Smollet, the reverse is seldom an opposite reaction to this phenomenon.

      Reply to Jack Horner: I don’t know where you read that on the Root but if reading the stories of the history of white people shenanigans gives you the impression that a great number of white people (notice I didn’t say all) do evil heinous shit to people in this country (and throughout the history of the world) and those things that make them seem like they are in league with the devil, then you have arrived at the proper conclusion. Assumably, by your inquiry, you are white as well, as so you may be offended by the response, however, if the characterization of the “most” doesn’t apply to you, then assume the Root is referring to people other than you. But, no not the devil, and not the primary reason for all the evil in the world.
