    Abomination! Anathema! - why would anyone adulterate, nay, destroy and discard the complex taste and aroma of an ‘elite’ cheese [whether paid top $ for, or not] with any brash artificial, factory-made taste? Even, or perhaps especially, if you do not have prior experience with fancy cheese, do yourself a favor, and taste it stand-alone.

      You know what Rémi Krug’s favorite thing to pair with champagne is? Popcorn. He’ll down a bottle of his family’s Clos du Mesnil that costs hundreds of dollars with a bowl of it.

      If something tastes good with something else, pair them together. Who cares? Food and drink are meant to be enjoyed; being snooty about them is silly.

    Better yet, make your own homemade potato chips. They’re actually a traditional accompaniment to roasted pheasant or duck a l’orange (when served with those dishes, they’re called “game chips”).
