    Didn't Mythbusters try this on a number of occasions with their Archimedes Death Ray and had to go to ridiculous, near-impossible lengths to get this to happen? How did this guy luck onto this...twice? The man must be a weaponeering genius and not realize his true calling.

      They were trying to catch wood on fire, which has a flashpoint of 300C. This isn't that hot.

      It helps that he's not using a ton of small mirrors, but one, huge mirrored surface. Lots of surface area means lots of gathered light.

    Uh....I don't think so. Seems to me the ability to determine what glass does with light has been around since like the 1300s when glass lenses were invented.
