I dunno about you, but with how damn expensive my bras are I'd feel like I was just burning a couple $50 bills instead of bras. Ouch ouch ouch. It's the price of those suckers that really burns.

Isn't it amazing that something so cheaply made (I'm looking DIRECTLY at you Victoria's Secret) can be made so expensive? It's a crime.

Yeah and you have no choice because cheap bras don't last and are dangerous. I'm surprised there aren't more deaths from vengeful under wires. And if you have bigger breasts than you pay even more. Back and wallet pain.

I have not payed much attention to the whole femism movement... up recently when I made myself look like an ass. Putting that aside (please), I can't say I've ever heard of anyone saying feminist burn their bras. I've seen many insults flying around, most common one being "lesbian"... and I'm not even sure why that is an insult at all.

I mean, if you are a lesbian then it doesn't matter, and if you are not then it matters even less.

Going back to the bra-burning thing, I imagine it makes for a very weak show of power... if any. I don't wear bras myself (not fat enough for male-bras yet XD), but thinking of taking my underwear and setting it on fire, it will probably look as stupid as it sounds :/

The idea is that women are constrained by society to have perfectly bound, supported and shaped breasts at all times (hidden too, I suppose, a la the breastfeeding issue, unless your being sexual, except then NOT TOO MUCH, a la nipplegate). It's one part of appearance a woman is told to maintain at all cost, which is why it was included in the original demonstration.

Just in case you weren't familiar with this. It came to be characterised as a bra-burning protest, but:

The feminist protest, organized by New York Radical Women, included tossing a collection of symbolic feminine products, pots, false eyelashes, mops, and other items into a trash can on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. They did not just burn bras. When the protesters also successfully unfurled a large banner emblazoned with "Women's Liberation" inside the contest hall, they drew world-wide media attention. The demonstration and the media coverage it drew was largely responsible for drawing national attention to the Women’s Liberation Movement. A reporter covering the protest drew an analogy between the feminist protesters and Vietnam War protesters who burned their draft cards, and the bra-burning trope was erroneously and permanently attached to the event and became a catch-phrase of the feminist era.

Ok, so next time just take the money in your wallet and burn it instead. Probably less toxic fumes

Alternatively, you could give your bra to my puppy and leave him alone for five minutes. He TRASHED one of my Le Mystere Dream Tisha's this weekend, I was not a happy lady.

You can get them pretty cheap on Amazon ($40 instead of $60-$70) so I'm not furious but I wasn't a happy girl!

Guys, I'm sure they didn't take their best bras and light 'em up. They probably got ones where a wire popped out, or they were frayed at the clasp or misshapen or something.

I don't think there's any clothing issue I hate more than having a wire pop out and poke my tender side boob all day. I invariably always forget too and wear the damn thing again, tugging in misery for what seems like eternity.

I have to say, I'm surprised there isn't more flame retardant chemical coatings on bras. After all, the average American appears more likely to sue over the risk of potentially immolating a hypothetical chest (or crotch or eyebrows) than actual long term illnesses caused by actual daily contact with provably harmful chemicals.

I bought two gorgeous, beautiful, technologically advanced bras yesterday for a grand total of $116.83. I love them. I will never ever burn them or treat them badly.

Victoria's Secret. I bought this one (in the lilac frost color, which looks amazing against my skin tone haha), and the body by Victoria demi. My boobs look FABULOUS today. I'd been using—embarrassingly—a very old bra with little lift, and yesterday the wire decided to stab me. Now they're so perky and lifted and awesome.
