That a bigot like this got on to the jury should speak to how fucked we are as a nation and how fucked Florida is as a state.

"Her only news about the case came from the Today show. "Newspapers are used in the parrot's cage. Not even read," she said."

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you're the parrot.

Why does she even have thenewspaper delivered, then, if she doesn't read it? Methinks she doth protest her ignorance too much.

      Agreed.

Home delivered newspapers aren't really cheap. We have daily delivery and I think it's 30 -50/month (hubby pays that bill). There are free newspapers everywhere, there is no way Sanford doesn't have some free penny saver, auto trader, real estate or other such papers for her to use for her parrot poop.

I find it interesting that she offered the info about the newspaper w/o being asked. She thought that was "clever".

She dislikes the media in general and considers it worthless. "You never get all the information... it's skewed one way or the other.

This is fairly true. Every outlet has their own agenda to push. Ratings ratings ratings. Hell, even gawker is guilty of this.

The Jury selection process disturbs me. It seems to me, that only the most stupid and sheltered people, IE the worst candidates for Jury Duty, actually get put on these juries. Alright, this man is on trial for his life, let's have the 6-12 dumbest people in here choose his fate.

That's how it is in EVERY case. Both the prosecution and defense want people that they can most easily manipulate. You end up with the least intelligent people in the room every single time.

In many American minds protesting equals rioting. Good, proper Americans sit in their home and keep their birdcages fresh with newspaper. The only reason to leave is for commerce.

It use to be that good Americans only left their home for commerce and church, but now we don't go to church either.

juror B37 in the case has signed on with a prominent literary agent, as a prelude to a book deal.

This really, really bothers me. She hates the media but now she has no qualms making money out of the memory of a dead Black teen. People were angry (ok, racists were angry) when Trayvon's parents trademarked his name because "they were going to exploit the case", blah blah (in reality, it was said they did so to prevent others from exploiting the memory of their son) but now this woman is going to make a name of herself and earn cash out of this whole disgrace.

It wasn't until this started that I realized why people trademark names. I had only heard of trademarking being equated to money/profits. But then Gawker posted an article about some fucktard who put up a Trayvon practice shooting target and another commentator wrote how this is the sole reason for Martin's parents to buy his trademark.

If I were Trayvon's parents, I would be asking the prosecution what happened. It seems like they didn't even want to try the case.

Seriously. WTF kind of a prosecutor lets this person get on the jury if they have any interest in winning the case? And the whole post-verdict press conference had such a disgusting smug and jubilant vibe to it. I wonder if the Martin family saw it. Angela Corey wasn't even pretending to care about getting justice for Trayvon at that point.

I think part of that is because I don't think the prosecution knew they could win. The amount of evidence for guilty wasn't there. I suspected they didn't have too much faith the minute the sidestepped the grand jury.

Didn't see that one, but I have seen this:

      https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid…

      I replied with this:

The shooter in this case was immediately arrested, denied bond, and will most likely be convicted of murder. So, no real cause for the "outrage" other than the senseless death of an innocent person.

YES. It is amazing how people's reaction to this case shows their true colors. People who cannot even write a coherent sentence, and use Facebook as a platform to let us know every minutiae of their and their cats' day, are suddenly up in arms about people flooding their newsfeeds with reactions to and information about this case. They suddenly become legal experts and talk about how the case wasn't proven and we all don't know all the facts. So, Columbo, tell me what you know that makes it ok to stalk and shoot a child.... It boggles the mind.
