Seriously if you think this make anyone the 'worst human being alive' I'd highly suggest you rethink your priorities. And possibly pull your head out of your ass and get to know the real world.

I feel like I could be a truly terrible person if it afforded me the chance to look like Sofia Vergara. Does that make me vain? Yeah, it does.

All you need is cash, just like SV. Her nipped nose and enhanced breasts didn't come all that cheap (they just look it).

I'm sorry, I thought I was at Jezebel, where Worst Human Being Alive is more likely to be applied to an actual monster of a human being, say Ariel Castro. Instead, I see we are supposed to revile a woman for acknowledging and taking pleasure in her financial successes after many years in her industry. It's like Bizarro-Jez.

Yeah, I feel a little lost. She's a successful woman doing her thing. She comes from money, but she's still out there building a career, instead of just sitting back and being taken care of. Her family's money gave her a leg up, but I don't think that needs to be held against her. I find her frankness refreshing compared to the "I'm just like you!" line so many celebrities spout.

I would think the Koch brothers or people who are so rich that they're actively impoverishing entire nations would be the worst human beings alive.

But no, someone who's into marketing and fancy purses is CLEARLY the worst.

That's an excellent point. I certainly don't think she's making the world a better place by contributing to the idea that success and happiness come from acquisition and possessions.

It would be nice, but I don't think so. She says horrible things all the time, and she used to date this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Pac…

I get the feeling she's someone who doesn't think or care much about other people.

So what. There are a lot of disgustingly wealthy people in the U.S. and many of them are celebrated on Jez - Beyonce and Jay Z come to mind, not to mention people with no apparent talent, like the Kardashians. I think Vergara is fantastic on Modern Family. She's hilarious and a great comedic actress for that role. And she's just being honest - she knows she's not suitable for a lot of serious roles and if she tried to do one, she would probably get a lot of shit for it. She's successful and not over reaching, unlike a lot of actor/celebrities who pretend to be experts at cooking, or writing, or twerking.

She's talented and put in the time to get where she is. I'm getting a little tired of Jezebel being the Lifestyle Police, and judging successful women for enjoying the fruits of their labor. Be happy- she is a SUCCESSFUL LATINA, how many are there in Hollywood?

Agreed. Very much so, actually. But heck, i'm sitting here feeling cheery about a female celebrity who's actually willing to use her own bank account to PAY for much of the finer things in life. In and of itself, that's a breath of fresh air. It doesn't excuse some pretty rampant materialism but at least she's doing it on her dime.

I think she's fantastically candid. I really do think it's refreshing. She's like, yes I am very beautiful and rich and you know what I love, purses and schlocking my K-Mart clothes. Endorsements is her true calling? Does anyone else find that funny? Because I do. I'm sure a lot of people are like this, you guys- and she makes fun of herself ALL THE TIME. Am I saying she's a great role model? No. But let's not hate on other women because "some people are on foodstamps." That is very true, and sad. But some people are wearing Vergara for K-Mart and looking damn fine as well.

I was just saying that I found this refreshing. This is who she is and she's owning it. What's so wrong with saying "I love my work and enjoy the money it makes me very much"? Would she be less of a terrible person if she lied? Or maybe if she had aspirations of "serious" acting, instead of being happy and comfortable with her strengths.

Um, besides, who ever said delivering lines on a network sitcom is high acting art? She loves getting paid. She can enjoy her life. And buy purses. Big whoop. Hardly makes you a horrible person.
