That nanny story strikes me as mighty apocryphal. I take leave to doubt it.

      Her name is La-sha. She is my mother's coworker's hairdresser's daughter's friend.

When they say "in the trash", do they literally mean in the trash? Because I find that a bit hard to believe ... or to stomach, at any rate.

I think it's really disgusting that she might have thrown items trash - however - the brands that give you merch frown upon re-gifting - god forbid a plebe be seen wearing their things. What she should have done was gift it to the assistants.

I work in 'fashion' and have always had an allowance but I'm a director at this point and get only about 2k a season (at wholesale) and I'm certainly not complaining. The biggest deal is that fuck ton of stuff they get for free on top of the allowance.

I suspect that Anna Wintour hasn't paid for a single item of clothing in the better part of a decade. She may be the only woman in the world who can literally call any design house and immediately get whatever she wants free of charge.

I bet she's got a whole room lined with Birkins.

this can't even be true. Wintour is a known outfit repeater.

You're right. She has things she likes an rewears, which is why she's getting rid of shit she doesn't like or wear.

haha yeah, I missed that sentence in the above article. But I was referring to the tweet, which claims she wears things once, then throws them out. That just doesn't seem like her modus.

So, can I start agitating for a 401k? Or at least a decent dental plan?

Except that the brands flinging thousands in shoes and clothes at her might be annoyed to discover that they ended up at Ina.

While the Newhouses shovel enough money at Anna Wintour for a clothing allowance and Graydon Carter gets play restaurant owner on the side, Newhouse newspapers are being gutted nationwide. Massive layoffs in New Orleans and Syracuse, and coming soon to Cleveland and Portland. Newark, you're on the clock.

Fuck you, Si, Anna, Graydon and all your Conde Nasties.

Before he started law school one of my friends worked for Howard Stern. His job was to catalogue and warehouse all the free crap that people sent Stern.

                Seriously.

Context? You mean an intern for the Stern Radio show, who would sift through all the free stuff sent to the Howard Stern Show? (sent him so they could hope he would talk about it on a radio show to get free promotion)

That's a vastly different beast than fashion trolls.

I don't remember the details (he's in his third year of law school now) but I don't think it was an internship or that he was employed by the show, I think it was Stern's personal free shit. Rich people of all sorts get free shit (things like fancy pants special cell phones).
