I'm actually kind of scared for him at this point. As long as he's got the camera on him, it's really hard for the US government to black-bag him (since they still care about appearances). Which is why he revealed himself in the first place, it sounds like.

If he's dropped off the radar, he's fair game, and we may not hear about him again for years until he's discovered rotting in some secret prison. It makes me ill to think my tax dollars are being used for things like that.

It's to the Obama Admin's best interest that the guy stays alive. If he dies from a stumped toe, people will blame Obama for it, and all hell will break lose with Snowden lovers. Will you people please stop with this CIA assassination b.s.!

It's BS to believe that the government assassinates people?

Have you not watched the news since 2001 or are you just willfully ignorant?

I love this guy. This is like every single international spy thriller fantasy I've ever had combined into one awesome, rolling story. I hope he ends up in a massive dacha on the Black Sea surrounded by boats, private jets, and tall beautiful women.

Snowden is probably on the run because the prospect of a 12 hour flight, in an Aeroflot economy seat, in the company of the usual rowdy bunch that are Russians on leisure, watching Solaris is enough to drive anyone to madness. I know it's supposed to be a masterpiece but it has to be one of the most morose, excruciating films I ever tried to endure. Such a flight without booze or pills would be enough to create a riot.

At least someone is having a little fun with this situation. I don't know whether it's Snowden or Putin or both in this case, but the essence of comedy is tweaking the nose of the richest and most powerful and nosiest guy in the room.

Also, no booze on long-haul Aeroflot flights? That's a separate story in itself right there. I'm laughing imagining the incidents that prompted it. "No, s'ok, s'ok - I am pilot, too! Hey, why does steering thing go back and forrrrrrttthhhh?!"

        All my bags are bugged

        I'm Cuba-bound

Or that's where you think that I'm around

There's no e-ticket that I trust to save this mess!

All the spies who want what's in my head

When I spill my guts I'm good as dead

You'll forgive me if I don't leave my address!

So miss me and hunt for me

Shake out the Third World for me

I've trolled you good, give up and let me go!

I'm leaving on a jet plane

(Just not the one, you think I'm on)

        Yours truly, I'm Edward Snowden,

There was also a rumour he was headed to Venezuela. From there, it's easy to get to Ecuador.

That's a pretty good troll. Not only a 12 hour flight, but having to stay 3 days before you can leave.

Kinda related question: can't the US freeze Snowden's assets? Are we all supposed to have international accounts for situations like these? Where is he getting his money to spend? Lol.

I am guessing that Snowden planned for his assets to be frozen. He probably has a lot of cash as well as, if he's smart, a bank account somewhere friendly. Maybe Switzerland or the Caymans.

Wikileaks surely at this point. Or cash. I'd use cash if I'm on the run.
