So by paying extra to get a single room in college, it cost my my start up getting plugged in the New York Times by a Nobel Prize winner? Why wasn't that on the pros and cons list?

Thankfully, Friedman hasn't won a Nobel Prize (although he has won three Pulitzer Prizes).

That's Milton Friedman with the Nobel. Tommy here only has a handful of Pulitzers.

I'm sure you only said that because of his moustache, which would probably explain why I'm thinking the same thing.

That's how you bootstrap yourself to success. It's all so clear to me now where I went wrong.

The term "job creators" needs to perish. No one "creates" jobs. They are born out of an economic need for labor to move goods and services to market. My wage is determined by the labor market, which is influenced by a number of factora including collective bargaining. My boss did not create a job for me as a moral gesture or as an act of philanthropy. I have a job because my work produces for my employer an amount of money greater than the cost of my labor over the long-run. Even if my employer was an evil robber baron, my job would exist because it's in the employer's best interest to continue my employment.

When pundits like Tom Friedman talks about "job creators," tehy're admitting they don't know shit about economics and probably aren't qualified for their jobs. In a perfectly rational economy, the NYT would fire Tom Friedman because of his ignorance. His daughter's tuition at that point? Let them eat cake.

"specializes in matching job seekers with job creators."

I think I've seen enough "Million dollar matchmaker" to know where this is heading

Ethics are one thing, but there is WAY more the fuck wrong with this latest column than the fact he is shilling for a family friend.

WHO are the people taking Thomas Friedman seriously enough that he still has this column? I mean, other than the Times editors. Where is the external validation of Friedman's worth?
