If a regular person complained about not being able to find clothes that fit, you'd all be praising her and talking about how messed up clothes sizes are. But god forbid a famous person has the same problem. She's obviously just a whiny brat.

    Oh the hypocrisy...

i think the problem is her complaining about it.she gets free designer clothes & has plenty of money to either have them altered, ask the designers to keep her measurements on file, or have clothes custom made. she needs to stfu about her perfect body because most people have real problems to deal with & dont want to hear that 1% nonsense

I didn't read anything in there that came off to me as implying she was whiny.

Edit: Unless you meant in the comments, which I hadn't gotten to yet. In which case I agree.

With all the snarking I see, is it wrong for me to feel happy that Sofia is actually pointing out a little bit of the magic (read: blood, sweat, tears, cursing) that has to go into making over a dress to fit you? I know I've sometimes felt like dressmaking/altering is like creating an insane piece of art... *goes back to hide in the shadows*

I agree with you. It feels more like she's giving props to the people who help make the clothes fit her properly. And I feel her pain, if she is complaining. (I just wish I had the money to make the magic happen for myself ;)

Right! To me, its amazing that a Hollywood actress actually understands how much work goes into making those dresses fit. I can easily imagine so many actresses just being all "just make it fit" and not appreciating the work that it entails.

And I feel her pain too...I have dressmaking experience for a reason. ;)

Am I supposed to be able to relate to/sympathize with a woman who is likely a size 4 with curves in all the right places because the free designer gowns she wears need to be tailored? Hmmm. Yeah, not feeling it.

You could sympathize with her non-rich or famous counterparts without money for tailoring and beautiful clothing! Granted, that's not really me (I don't look like that), but I'm small with a booty, which can be difficult. Having your issues dismissed is annoying, especially since I fully recognize that my issues are nothing compared to my plus-sized sisters'.

I don't think they were looking for sympathy, but I do relate to this totally. I hate ready to wear.

I have to get everything altered too, and I'm no Sophia Vergara.

I wish I could afford to get things altered (or learn to do it myself). I'm getting deja vu - maybe we've spoken about this before? I recently inherited a sewing machine, but I think it doesn't work... I would love to get the hang of making a few nips and tucks to clothing so it fits better. First, though, I want to re-lose 10lbs so that I wouldn't have to keep re-altering.

Oh, bodies. You are tricksy things.

Ah, I know, it's expensive to have to customize everything. I don't know how to sew at all, and I don't really have the patience to learn, but I found someone who will do alterations to pants for about $20, dresses tend to be a bit more depending on what needs to be done. I guess it's not bad considering they look way better once they fit all the pieces!

Sofia Vergara Has a Hard Time Wearing Clothes

And lots of people have a hard time imagining her in them.

So it sort of works out, then?

I seriously thought this was an article where she was going to say something like "I just hate not being naked!"

"Also," Vergara continued, "My wallet's too small for my fifties and my diamond shoes are too tight!"

(Yes, you've heard it elsewhere, but why improve upon a perfect joke?)

My son and I just watched her in Pitch Perfect last night, and she was pretty awesome. I wish I could pull off that kind of attitude.

Poor, poor Sofia Vergara. I'm glad this ran on Thursday so I can get an early start on my weekend meditation of how difficult it must be for her to be beautiful, rich, talented, young AND hard to fit in designer gowns.

      Nah...really? She's amazing. I just love her.
