Did Prince Andrew finally get caught with a dick in his butt? Not that there's anything remotely wrong with it.

Is that the rumour, that Andrew's a colon cowboy? Could be, I've just never heard that before.

Well, for it to be non-Cabinet members and be this big, it's an ex PM, I'll wager. Possibly one who recently died, thus removing half of the defamation risk? But who did Maggie shag? Hmmm......

Oh I would love for it to involve Maggie and... I dunno, Bigfoot. Yeah, Bigfoot'll do. Or Reagan.

But alas, she died really past middle age, no?

Doesn't say that these 'middle-aged figures' are even politicians, ex or otherwise. Just that they have 'ties' to Cameron's office. So I'm thinking this is a Royal scandal? At least I hope so...

ETA: But if not Royal then I'd LOVE it if this involved Maggie.

The two people are Rebekah Brooks (former News of the World editor) and Andy Coulson, Cameron's former press secretary.

Guido Fawkes left a little hint regarding it in his article discussing the Mail's story. Furthermore, the reluctance of the Mail to say who it is is probably because Brooks and Coulson are both facing criminal charges and they will be wary of publishing anything that could end up with them facing legal issues.

I mean, it is pretty important. He was at the time one of the most powerful men in the country and Brooks was one of the key figures in the entire phone hacking scandal. Who knows what might be blown open if this gets currency.

That said, if you're not British or if you're not really invested in the state of the tabloid press in the UK, I totally get why you wouldn't give a shit.

As Stephen Colbert noted back in the day, this is the type of story a reporter waits his entire career not to be able to report on. And then he cracked up adorably.

Hah, what a great clip.. never saw that before. My favorite clip of Colbert completely losing his shit was this little ditty — makes me think that the writers surprised him a little bit:

"...would likely cause a public uproar that would rival the reaction to the revelation in 2002 that former Prime Minister and John Major and former Parliament member Edwina Currie had a four-year affair in the late 1980s"

I don't even know where to start with how wrong this sentence is.

      Exactly. What sentence?

Do you mean (and I'm guessing) "...cause a public uproar that would rival the reaction to the 2002 revelation that, in the late 1980's, former Prime Minister John Major and former Parliament member Edwina Currie had a four-year affair."

Even that's tortured, but it stands up.

God England... you have serious problems, like that your whole ruling party went to the same private school together, and a sex scandal is what derails months of work?

I love you, but you need to demand better of your crazy tabloid media. Realtalk.

Oh geez it seems like everyone loves a sex scandal - half of the 1990s were derailed by the Lewinsky/Clinton event. Maybe it just feels that way.

I know exactly who it is from a friend who works for a daily paper, but I can't say as due to our crazy legal system I'd end up in jail. For those guessing royals though you are wrong on this particular one. Think more to do with people involved in other scandals that aren't related to sex.

It's the recent Nigel Evans arrest. He's a serial rapist who also happens to be a senior Conservative Party politician in the house of commons. 4 women have come forward as victims and news reports say that multiple people are being questioned in relation to either the actual crimes or the cover up.

Am I the only international news junkie up in here or what?

Well you're not reading those papers close enough I guess because Evans is gay and th complainants are not women, they're men.

Ouch. You're right. I saw the first report on Huffington post and it didn't mention men. And then my speed googling just said four victims. Shame on me for acting smart.
