    Good.

Because they wouldn't fire a man who was in the same position.

So, the glass ceiling issue takes place over taking a stance against interpersonal violence (which Jezebel normally calls "domestic violence"), including emotional abuse? That seems backwards.

Ok, I feel like we need a refresher course on just what "emotional abuse" is. The US Department of Justice defines it as:

Undermining an individual's sense of self-worth and/or self-esteem is abusive. This may include, but is not limited to constant criticism, diminishing one's abilities, name-calling, or damaging one's relationship with his or her children.

I get that it's frustrating that women are held to a higher standard than men are, punished for things men aren't. I get that the glass ceiling is a bitch. But emotional abuse is linked to poor health outcomes, like PTSD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and even suicide. Additionally, physical and sexual abuse are *always* found in tandem with emotional abuse. You cannot get rid of physical abuse without shutting violence down at the emotional level. And, last I checked, interpersonal violence and violence against women was a feminist issue. How can we possibly tell the world that we take female perpetrators seriously, when our answer to a woman being abusive is "well, good, it's more important that a single woman climb up the power ladder than that feminist protect the mental and physical welfare of much larger numbers of women"? How is privileging the glass ceiling as a feminist priority not the same abuse apologia we scream at men (and other women) for all the time?

How, in this Brave New Interwebs World, does something like this even go down? Did Rutgers maybe not do a thorough enough job vetting her? Seems like a quick Google would have come up with loads about her past with Tennessee and you'd hope that someone, somewhere would stop and think "hmmm, do we want to tackle this?"

On the other hand, perhaps she shouldn't be judged too harshly on her past. People fuck up, and everyone loves a good redemption story. It will be interesting to see how she does as she attempts to lead Rutgers toward some kind of national relevance in sports (hahahahahaha).

The video evidence is certainly damning:
