Wearing a watch with evening clothes?

    No, no, no, no, no!

I don't care how many diamonds you put on it. A watch is a day-time accessory only

The problem is that the watch is too big. A small watch can be an evening accessory.

My Grandmother is turning in her grave! My Great-aunts are bringing out their smelling salts!

Checking a wristwatch is a business gesture. At social events, you're supposed to be having such a good time that time itself is not important. You don't have to check your wristwatch because there is no other place that you need to be.

If, however you do need to know what time it is, you use a small pocket watch. A much different and lovelier gesture when taken from your purse or pocket.

Oh God. I went to NYC this weekend and went to Tiffany's and OH GOD. UNF. Dita, I love pearls and diamonds together, too. It seems like the ultimate decadence, doesn't it?

I really like it, actually. I like the Deco style, so I might have been predisposed to liking it anyway.

Stealing is wrong. However, I was under the impression that these jewels were always guarded by squadrons of armed insurance agents. If I'd known it was possible to actually make off with all the red carpet sparklies, I might have made different choices in life. Wrong choices.

I think it is a very swanky, very James Bond type ring of thieves. They are beautiful people themselves, which is why they fit in among the beautiful people. They go to these suites, get the jewelry, and just waltz right out before anyone is the wiser. Either that or Sharon Stone is doing it.

I know. I have trouble jaywalking, but sometimes a life of crime sounds like so much more fun then my office existance.

That little part of me that is evil loves this, kinda... fancy things stolen from a festival devoted to honoring fancy people for making fancy entertainment for lots and lots of fancy, fancy money. First world problems, indeed. (P.S. Yes, I do know that Stealing is Bad.)

But what if Angelina is secretly taking the jewels, selling them to the highest bidder, and giving the money to the poor orphanages around the world? Would that still be wrong? Que Ethical Conundrum!

Oh my god, I went on Dita's twitter last night and was going to make a comment about how you should check out her vine shots. The makeup, the jewelry, the cheese eating with Christian Louboutin, it's like watching mini fairy tales.

I like things that are sparkly and shiny. They easily attract my attention and distract me from everything else.

Based on my personal obviously "sound" logic, this is why I think engagement rings were invented back in the day. To keep unwitting girls from thinking about what they were really getting themselves into and just focus on the shiny prettiness.
