Does it matter that the predatory Matt Drudge is a closeted homosexual as Gawker has so beautifully argued in the past?

No it does not matter. We're not all fabulous, brilliant, witty and hot. There are many self-hating homos out there. See; Republican Party, Christians.

But maybe it does matter if the closeted homosexual is working against human rights, holding back justice, and spreading lies.

The problem with the Currant article is that the soda ban wouldn't prevent you from getting two sodas, just one large soda. So Bloomberg shouldn't be prevented from getting two slices of pizza, just ordering an entire pizza for himself. Maybe the resolutely heavy-handedness of the thing is actually parodying the stupid conservative responses to the soda ban? (I like to be optimistic about the causes for utter stupidity.)

I can't blame anyone for being tricked by them. The Daily Currant is so unfunny, that any sense of satire could be completely missed.

Unimaginative, unfunny satire is a great business model! You see how many people share Currant articles on social media thinking they're real?

Though there's clearly an audience of people who fall for obvious satire too.
