Campaign workers for a senate campaign in a swing state were snarking in the recent Time Magazine piece that they had more offices in said swing state than Trump, that Trump’s ground game is non-existent. I can concur, I live in MI which Trump should want to go red. Yet only Hillary ads are airing locally...

Bannon has allegedly been telling Trump for months to run as an unabashed nationalist. I am excited just to see how “restrained” Manafort actually had him (answer: not at all, but hopefully a little). I want him to say even more insane things than he already has.

Honest question, because I don’t know about these things:

Does he use a tanning bed and wear giant goggles or something? Why is he orange all over except for the Maz Kanata circles around his eyes?

Neither Conway nor Bannon have any experience running a presidential campaign in a general election, although both, the Times points out, are close with her-daughter conservative mega-donors Robert and Rebekah Mercer.

    Umm...what?

      So many questions!

      * Whose daughter? Who is the “her?”

      * Why is “her-daughter” hyphenated?

      * Is “her daughter” both Robert and Rebekah Mercer? Why do Robert and Rebekah Mercer go by one female person, and who is her mom?

There was also this insightful interview from Trump yesterday:

“Well, possibly I do, but, you know, I am who I am. It’s me,” Trump told Wisconsin news station WKBT-TV in a sit-down interview Tuesday. “I don’t wanna change. Everybody talks about, ‘Oh well, you’re gonna pivot, you’re gonna’ — I don’t wanna pivot. I mean, you have to be you. If you start pivoting, you’re not being honest with people.”

“I don’t wanna change.” Like a toddler. Literally like a toddler.

And Hillary Clinton names Ken Salazar to lead her White House transition team:

Again, both of these candidates are terrible, but only one is getting a pass from the major media outlets.

      Ideologically? Agreed.

Functionally? There is far less daylight between the two because, in the highly unlikely event of a President Trump, he’d have to back way the hell away from the lunatic fringe he’s currently occupying in order to do anything, even get cabinet members confirmed. Meanwhile, in the highly likely event of a President Clinton, she will face no opposition from the Democrats and more then enough sympathy from moderate Republicans to do the problematic things she’s in favor of doing.

Regardless of the campaign-year rhetoric, any objective assessment of HRC’s record and her under-the-mainstream-media-radar actions since securing the nomination show she is still sympathetic to unbalanced free-trade policy like the TPP, she is still sympathetic to problematic deployment of fracking, she is still sympathetic to foreign nation building, she is still sympathetic to corporate special interests and she is still extremely committed to obscuring political transparency, which largely frustrates political accountability.

These are all key elements that perpetuate the status quo of DC ruling for the interests of the very few and the continued widening of the income disparity gap.

If you believe these are the most important issues facing the country, then Hillary Clinton is almost as functionally terrible as Trump. And certainly not better enough to support.

Ah poor Reince Priebus, this is such a fuck you to him after all his attempts to play nice with Trump. Breitbart is all about pushing the Republican civil war that he’s been desperately failing at stopping. Though, to the extent that this means a return to more of Trump’s trade criticisms that are very much counter to the “establishment” R position, I actually prefer this. Trump playing nice with establishment Rs on economic policies has muddled and undercut an area of potential strength for Trump (and a potential vulnerability of Clinton’s). On the other hand, that this also means more of the xenophobic and Islamophobic nationalism on immigration issues, this is terrible news. Terrible for many Republicans, yes, but also for everybody. It’ll be interesting to see if this is a signal that Trump thinks that the RNC, Ryan, etc are going to cut their losses and just focus on Congress, in which case he might as well go this route.

Trump has the best people. So great he brought on even better best people to make up for the shortfalls made by his current best people.

They are going to bleed him dry and leave him alone in an empty ballroom come election night.

It’s seemed for awhile now that he is actively recruiting cokeheads with rage issues to run things, so why not just open the tap full blast at this point? I mean, his entire campaign seems like a bunch of gakked out bros actually managed to make one of their drug-fueled, grandiose schemes actually happen.
