      Alaska is a odd place. We’ve legalized weed, we tossed out that shitty “teenagers need to have parental permission to get an abortion” bullshit recently, and the adult hippy (not hipster) population is booming (at least in my small microcosm of the state.)

      However, our state government is Republican and right-wingers like Palin and Murkowski are all that the rest of the world see.

      It is a pretty interesting situation to observe, actually.

    Energy good = Fossil fuels good. Not that sissy, socialist alternative energy crap.

    I’m still waiting for someone to explain to the coal miners who whom Trump has said he’ll get their jobs back that the reason for the loss of employment in coal is that the price of natural gas has plummeted. Right now, it’s cheaper and cleaner (somewhat) for power companies to fire their boilers with natural gas, so it’s a question of economics, not some insidious, socialist plot by Obama/Hillary.

    Next, Trump is going to promise to revive the buggy-whip industry that Obama destroyed back in the early part of the 20th century.

    Granted, the low natural gas prices is largely due to fracking, but that’s a whole different story.
