    Boy, a lot of commenters are going to be embarassed when they find out Obama’s position on trying Gitmo detainees via military tribunal...

    Edit: upon closer reading, Trump was singling out US citizens, not the average Gitmo detainee. So my initial snark doesn’t work.

    But I could have brought up “killing US citizens with drones overseas without due process” which, yeah.

    It’s sure fun to point and laugh when it Trump is all ignorant about law and shit...but glass houses, people. Glass houses.

      Well, Bush wanted to try Jose Padilla in front of a military commission until he caved to political pressure. It would be disappointing, but amusing, if Trump wasn’t willing to go as far as Bush in this area.

      Saw some Trump supporter go off on a twitter rant today about how the press is interfering with our “free election” by airing the things that Trump says and we need to shut down all media. Dude was completely serious. And you know that shit comes from the top; his moron followers are not clever enough to come up with bullshit like that. This is what the Trump campaign is pushing as talking points.

      I work at a more liberal leaning newspaper, and yesterday I got a lovely call from a guy complaining that we ran a Reuters story on the 2nd amendment comments. This guy wanted to know why “the piece of shit media” doesn’t print stuff about “that lying bitch Hillary”. He then went on to ask why we don’t publish stories about the emails (not news), why we never write stories about her constant lies when he never lies (he does), and why we aren’t writing about Obama being the true founder of ISIS (he isn’t).

      Not to steal CNN’s new trick but that was pretty much how the conversation went, he refused to accept anything as fact and when he tried to tell me Obama founded ISIS in Afghanistan before the Bush administration I had to hold back my laughter. The final straw was when he told me Obama is running against Hillary and Trump, at which point I burst out laughing and he got pissed and hung up.

      TL;DR - Trump supports don’t accept facts and believe every newspaper or news outlet in general is out to get their guy, who never lies.
