      I was ready to say kind of the same thing, my only quibble was that the video had some disconcertingly high production values. Then I clicked through the link. That thing cost $200,000 to make. Or as the article points out $1,670/second. It is of course their money to spend but they will have to put on a lot of Brats for Tots fundraisers to see any kind of ROI.

      In the original cut the pink jeep flips over after hitting a massive pothole, spilling all the women out onto the dusty desert floor and instantly killing the driver. Two of the women are almost immediately bitten by rattlesnakes. Another woman has a compound fracture to her leg. It’s getting dark and the temperature is dropping. As they scramble to save their lives, the video fades to black and text appears on the screen “THE DESERT IS WAITING FOR YOU.” Fin.

    To help out all the people who are bitching about how Hamilton is just mad because wealthy attractive people are having fun — click through the link. That whimsical video cost $2ook to make. For a recruitment video. For a sorority. At a public university. Granted they did it with their own (daddies) money, but if that doesn’t give you just a little bit of pause about our priorities, then you are exactly the demographic that video is trying to recruit.

      If you let it play to the end you are presented with the obligatory “if you liked this than try this other one...” selection. There is another video just like this for a sorority at the University of Miami by the same company. It takes place in Miami, but it looks like the same girls. I wonder if the people in the video are actually members of the sororities in question or if they hired models to dance around with their hands in the air.

      You have a higher tolerance for pain than I do. I think I made it about 60 seconds before FF a couple of times to see if they ever made it to campus but shut it off before I got to the end. I have no doubt that the girls featured in the videos actually are members of the sororities in question, but you are absolutely right in that there is a shared aesthetic which seems to transcend region/school. From lurking about on Jezebel I gather that they would term them “basic bitches.”
