Nothing about the voting process in the United States is centralized enough to be able to rig the Presidential race in the manner he is suggesting (i.e. multiple, maybe even most states fraudulently going for Hillary). Our system in determining the President is convoluted enough to make it nearly impossible to have that kind of organized, wide-spread deception. What, does he think someone from the Democratic party is going to show up and tell Ethel, the old lady who has helped run my town’s polling station since before I was born, to switch out the ballots and she will just do it? And then repeat that for even most of the polling places in the state? And then get someone to rig all the electronic votes? Bribe all the members of the electoral college? And even then, that is just one state, you’d have to do that all over the country. I’m not saying someone might not try (but the Democrats certainly aren’t going to this year) but I doubt it would ever work. Especially with all the 24 hour news coverage of the elections. Maybe, maybe you might be able to rig smaller, local elections, but Trump isn’t running for the school board or sheriff- he is running for President (since it seems like he only knows that half the time).

Accurate. Sometimes I feel like a schmuck because I clearly put way more thought into his idiotic ideas than he does.

If you go on Breitbart, they’re still all convinced that polls are a tool of the libtards and that Trump is going to squash Hillary in the election. Even if Hillary wins, I am scared as to what is going to happen after the election, and I don’t even live in the U.S.

And for some reason they seriously believe a wildly gyrating spazz would somehow magically acquire intelligence and dignity upon taking office. I’m betting he wouldn’t.

On some level I feel like this election must be almost equally scary for some foreigners as it is for Americans.

Donald Trump Apparently Has No Idea How Voting Works

Donald Trump has no idea how much dirt the Dems have on his alleged connection to the upper echelons of NAMBLA.

The sad(!) truth is that Donald Trump may very well be in the (little) pocket of Big Boy.

Is NAMBLA actually a thing? I’ve heard it joked about many times and no what it stands for and everything but is it an actual thing? I’m afraid to Google it.

It’s a real organization, yes. Whether Trump gave money to them? Well releasing his tax returns might answer that question definitively.

It is incredible how someone of his age and status would have no idea how anything in this country works. I mean, the rich live in their own world, sure, but this is civics 101. He must have been playing with his hair or throwing paper airplanes during that class to be this oblivious.

I just think he’s dumb. Oh, sure he understands the basic shit like bankruptcy because he’s discovered that it’s important to him personally. But the rest ... he’s dumb. I’m pretty sure that all of his wonderful amazing real estate deals have been negotiated and pulled off by others and he swoops in, slaps his name on it and grins like an idiot. But yeah, I really think the average college freshman is WAY smarter than him on matters involving voting and the constitution.

I tend to be in the middle. Certain issues push me away from the right and certain issues push me away from the left. Thinking it’s racist to require people to prove who they are with a photo ID when voting pushes me away from the left. If your concern is that it’s difficult for people to get a photo ID, then focus on fixing that problem.

One of the reasons the voter ID laws were struck down in NC was because they proved that Republicans had gone specifically with ID types they knew that black people were less likely to have. There was absolutely a racist motivation behind the law.

And until that problem is fixed, laws that prevent tons of people from voting and sometimes stated by their supporters (in moments of mistaken honesty) to be about suppressing valid votes are a-ok as long as people pretend it’s about fixing the basically non-existent problem of voter fraud?

I enjoyed the part today where, as Trump blasted Clinton for the Orlando shooter’s dad sitting behind her, Mark Foley sat behind Trump applauding. Maybe there IS truth to the NAMBLA rumors many, many people are talking about?

I think there are a lot of people who are confused about the way elections work. It’s a state by state system, and there are so many ad hoc aspects of it that it can be kind of scary to think about how much of our democratic system is run in an arbitrary manner. Living and voting in one state in no way prepares you for how it's done in another state, and it's very likely that you'll make a mistake or miss something if you move and don't do a lot of research.

For example — North Carolina took the most surgical and aggressive voter fraud scheme I’ve ever seen. They actually commissioned a study to determine how people of different races voted, and then passed a law that targeted only the methods of voting that black voters were more likely to use. Their voter ID laws excluded only IDs that black people were more likely to have, they banned voting on the days that black people were more likely to vote (per their study), they banned voter registration programs that made it easier for black people to register to vote. If you're a voter from another state and you move to North Carolina, you might have been tripped up by these weird rules because they were basically jerry rigged to hamstring black voters.

I guess Googling how to stop black people from voting was a bad move on their part.

Right? It’s rare that a civil rights attorney has that kind of evidence going into court. It’s the equivalent of a employer emailing a pregnant woman to tell her that she is being fired because she was pregnant. It’s almost too easy.

Unless you live in about a half dozen swing states it doesn’t matter anyway. I will never vote while there is an electoral college in place. I will not participate in anything that can be decided by people in Florida.

How would this even work? What is the actual process to force companies to stay in the US?

China, for example, forces foreign companies to build partially Chinese owned factories to build their products in China. However, China is still a communist country, albeit an extremely corrupt one. You want to sell there, you have to build there. Now, this is easy to do when the government controls everything including ownership of companies, staffing of the factory and even housing of the workers.. The US government obviously has zero ability to institute such a system here.
