      Some of his supporters say that. One of my personal favorites from a Trump supporter is the man who, when questioned about Trump’s comment on Megyn Kelly’s “bleeding”,insisted that Trump was clearly referring to the crucifixion of Christ (with the bleeding being from the stigmata, where the thorns pierced Christ’s flesh).

      “It’s wrong to exclude him and insult him on what people interpret he said as opposed to what he said,” said Pemberton. “He was saying that Megyn was seeing blood, in her eyes. As far as ‘blood coming out all over,’ the first thing I think of is not a woman’s menstrual cycle. I think of Jesus Christ, thorns on his head, nail holes in his hands, stigmata.”

      There are a lot of Trump supporters who do revel in his grossness, but there are many who will flatly deny that he has ever said anything offensive or will hastily recast anything he has said on tape as referring to something else, generally right before they try to change the subject to that time Hillary Clinton threw a lamp 21 years ago or whatever the new story going around the right wing bubble is these days.

      I’ve heard rumors that Team Clinton did indeed ask her to be Secretary of Shittalking after her first tweets got under Trump’s skin. Since it looks bad if Hillary or anyone closely related to her team got involved in this level of school-yard taunting, it makes sense to have somebody really good at it do it. Especially if it’s a woman who’s much, much, much smarter than he is

      There also isn’t a ton they can throw against her, as evidenced by the same two insults being used over and over. Part of that is because of her relatively short time in politics, part is that she is pretty consistent with her views. The only thing they’ve been able to throw against her is that she is “goofy” (you are, and we love you for it, Liz) and the “Pocahontas” thing. I wish the worst someone could throw at me was “you acted like an idiot when you filled out your college application when you were 18.” She doesn’t seem to have many skeletons waiting to fall out of the closet, and that makes her the perfect person to go up against Trump.

    Has the mainstream liberal media simply decided to not report on anything that could damage Hillary Clinton’s campaign? Trump is awful and he has exhausted any benefit of the doubt so it’s fair to report this as a veiled assassination threat, but perhaps if the media also reported on all the bullshit going on with the other side, we might actually get a third party to break the stranglehold of two disgusting parties and their constant drag toward oligarchy.
