    cherished bath towel

    lol ok.

At least one of them will have some time to learn to do their goddamn laundry.

Seriously, though. Adults who cannot do their own laundry is one of my major pet peeves. I’ve been doing mine since I was about 12 (and I got tired of having to find my stuff in a huge pile of everyone’s clothes) and have zero tolerance for people that “can’t” do it. It comes with instructions, people. Also, the internet exists, so there is really no excuse.

My freshman year college roommate had never done his laundry or ironed an article of clothing before in his life. It was a very eye-opening year for him.

If you are in a position to hire a maid, you are certainly in a position to replace a bath towel, “cherished” or not. It does seem as though those who can afford to buy and replace things easily put a crazy amount of importance on things while believing they can buy, replace, and dispose of people much more easily.

All my clothes have melded together into a pleasing shade of gray. I basically look like a white Kanye all the time now. #OneGiantLoadOnHotPerWeek

Yeah, and I guess I should shower every day too now, and not wear a belt made of old shoelaces. Because I'm trying to impress you!

I send my laundry out because I am fuck off busy and I live in a building with a crap laundry situation. Doesn’t mean she can’t do it. And what if the towel was a special embroidered one or something cute with the kids name that she DID get as a special present? This woman is pissed that someone she paid fucked up and STOLE from her. Sorry, on the employer’s side on this one. But 60 days in jail s absolutely ridic. And the press about it is just unnecessary.

Well, the case hasn’t been decided yet, so she says the maid messed up (one single load of laundry) and took some stuff.

The maid has a history of theft, so I’m not cutting her much slack.

I may make a lot of mistakes in my life, I may have regrets, I may have done things I could never forgive myself for... but at least I never had a “cherished bath towel.”

The wording is unfortunate but according to the Post it was a towel with her newborn’s name on it.

The trick to washing all your clothes together is to pick the right temperature and detergent. Use hot water setting and Tide w/ Bleach and everything will come out sparkling clean.

Don't transfer immediately to the dryer, either. Allow clothes to sit for 12-48 hours for fabric softener to set.

That must have been some towel. So damn absorbent it’d just suck the moisture off your body if you stood too close to it.

As someone who from the age of 8 dragged my entire family’s laundry on foot to the laundr-o-mat around the block, while fighting off the crack heads from stealing our stuff, the extreme privilege I feel in having someone else do most of my laundry is a joy beyond all comprehension. This is living, my mother would be so proud.

The level of appreciation I experience for services of this sort as well as those who have come to help me clean my home etc, is beyond what I feel for the majority of humankind. I expect this is how many people feel about Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga.

Also, anyone who cherishes a bath towel needs to undergo a psychiatric eval. And this is coming from a person who knows what it’s like to dry off with your bed sheet because you do not own a towel.

Growing up, my mom thought we should eschew towels to jump up and down and shake our limbs until we were dry. She made up a song to go with the dance, if we were speaking in person I would sing it to you. Growing up poor left her a little bit nuts (in the best way!).

The laundry thing could be taken as shallow. I can however sort of see Park’s point if the towel was a shower gift or something from a person no longer alive.

But since it’s just a towel, let’s snark it into insignificance since it’s not our towel and Park’s an evil white rich lady.

That being said, Figueroa has done this thing before so she’s hardly the victim here.
