I wonder what the 3 things were that he thought would be solved with a bit of nuking?

ISIS has to be one of ‘em.

    Who replaces Trump?

I’m thinking Romney. Cruz burned himself acting sane in the convention and honestly if you had a do over would you pick him?

Oddly, I think it’s Romney, also. Hillary can beat him, too. I mean, I find him smug and aristocratic and uninterested in the welfare of the working people, but at least he’s not crazy....

Romney was a descent man who actually had morals and beliefs, he was just completely wrong on the issues, but he wasn’t a mad man. If I had to pick between Romney and Hillary it would be a toss up. Trump on the other hand is like deciding between someone I have reservations about, and A mutated clone of Hitler with weird orange hair.

I honestly don’t know how you Americans do it, I’d be mainlining antacids until November.

I woke up at 5:30 with heartburn over this and I just live in the next country. Buying shares in whoever manufactures Tums would be a wise investment.

This is the exact look my dad would give me when I said / did something particularly idiotic. He would just give me that face until I realized the idiocy I had just produced. Sometimes he’d add a head shake to really drive it home.

Obama’s approval rating has been going up and up this year. The DNC just pushed him up by ~3 points so he’s around 54%, which is Reagan territory. That’s good news for Clinton and the Dems.

The NY Post also has a pretty entertaining theory that Obama is trolling Republican leaders by publicly calling on them to withdraw their endorsements of Trump:

Consider the complex calculation Obama has made here.

No one in the GOP will dare follow the prescription he has suggested in his remarks — precisely because he’s the one making the suggestion.

Indeed, if House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell were in fact thinking at all seriously about withdrawing their endorsements of Trump, they could not possibly do so now.

They would not appear to be retracting their endorsements out of principle but rather in craven capitulation to the Democratic president who is trying to get his Democratic successor elected.

And he knows it. He isn’t calling on them to do the right thing. He’s wrapping Trump around them and the GOP like a boa constrictor in hopes that the party’s leader is going to cut off the circulation to the party’s body and leave it suffocated, bloodless and dead.

And yet somehow this still seems too painless and merciful.

Morning Joe Scarborough just said, On national television, He knows a foreign policy expert who met with Trump months ago. And 3 times, in a 1 hour briefing, Trump asked “Why can’t we use Nuclear Weapons?”

So... looks like, somehow, today is shaping up to be worse than yesterday for the GOP?

No worries. If the unthinkable happens, there are surely plans in place to neutralize the threat before it takes the oath of office.

President Obama was a “personality” president. Despite that he did pretty ok. Excited for a really wonky president like Hillary though. Total bookworm.

      Were gonna miss this man.

He campaigned as a bedrock progressive, and presided as a centrist democrat. He wasn’t perfect, but he was capable, thoughtful, and careful. He didn’t grab any guns, he didn’t tax anyone into the stone age, he consistently reached out to republicans every step of the way (to the annoyance of many)

He is far and above a better leader then anything the republicans have to offer, and a better human being then most. In comparison with the nightmare that is Trump he looks like the last light of a smarter, more tolerant time, when we actually believed we might be overcoming the significant problems of race even if on a purely surface level.

No president keeps their hands clean so to speak, the job makes you dirty, (drones, spying, backroom trade deals) but if you keep the country relatively safe, revive the american economy, and repair the image of America with our allies, you’ve done a statesmen like job. It’s why his approval rating is rising as his term is ending, despite whatever you may think of his policies, all and all he was the right president at the right time.

Gallup 53% approval as of today. If any president could easily win a 3rd term, it would be this man.
