Let’s be clear here: this is not just about Trump being a preemptive sore loser.

Donald Trump is attempting to destroy the most fundamental source of stability and peace in this country: the fairness and legitimacy of our elections.

Accusations of election fraud are common in developing nations with weak adherence to democratic norms. Such accusations are often a pretext for violence and civil conflict and used as an excuse for the seizure of power by strongmen.

Donald Trump is planting the idea in his fanatics’ heads that they have a compelling reason to resist the outcome of the November election. And he has fertile soil for this insanity because Republicans have been questioning the legitimacy of our sitting president for the entirety of his term in office. They accuse Obama of not being a U.S. citizen and suggest that he sympathizes with our enemies.

Trump is taking this GOP tactic a step further by preemptively declaring that Hillary Clinton can’t win the presidential election without cheating (an idea, I should add, that might have been inspired by the crackpot conspiracy theories that emerged from the Sanders campaign and its supporters regarding the Democratic primary).

I cannot stress enough how dangerous this idea is. Trump is attempting to unleash undemocratic forces that could potentially turn violent. He must be stopped.

I had this same thought - in US elections, there is a good reason people humbly accept their defeat in public. Why Gore didn’t fight his case harder.

One man’s pride is not worth damaging the stability of our nation.

Send the FBI & Federal elections officials to talk to Trump. “Mr. Trump, can you tell me the source of these allegations? We take this very seriously. We need to investigate these claims.”

Then charge him with filing a phony police report .

(personally I keep hoping that Obama just tells the IRS to stop the audit, to remove Trump’s only excuse for not releasing his taxes. I know that won't happen, but a girl can dream)

Why should we be providing classified information to an International Business asshole that won’t even release his Tax Returns boggles my mind. I hope he uses or passes this information for personal gain and then rot in fucking prison for it.

Perhaps if he hadn’t built his campaign on hatred and denigration of Muslims, Jews, African Americans, Mexicans, refugees, immigrants, people on welfare, people who only make minimum wage, people who are on welfare because only make minimum wage, The Chinese, The Japanese, The Saudis, women, New Yorkers, Californians, Washingtonians, everyone north of the Mason-Dixon line, anyone with a college degree, Catholics, the Pope, every person who has ever held public office at any level and at any time, emergency first responders, former prisoners of war, military officers, veterans, military families, and the disabled, he wouldn’t be viewed so poorly by the public at large.

He just wants to be treated “fairly”. In his mind, “fairly” means he wins whatever the outcome of the vote is.

So unless that spoiled asshat wins, there will be “a constitutional crisis, widespread civil disobedience, and the government will no longer be the government.”

Well since both sides are talking constitutional crisis I’d say it’s about even. Trump side is just fluffing up the crisis talk because a military that won’t carry out orders to murder Muslim families is more of a crisis than an angry Fox news mob that didn’t see the election results coming because Fox news didn’t tell them people don’t like trump

      Because he’s white.

Seriously, this is the kind of shit that I’m afraid of. This moron’s going to steer his campaign into the ditch and his army of heavily-armed half-wits is going to storm around the country like a white tornado full of stupid and guns.

I’ve been predicting this since the convention—if Trump doesn’t win, he’s going to try to burn the whole country to the ground. He started with the “Hilary for Prison” shit, then it’s moving onto the “The election is rigged” phase, and then it will be full on calls to riot instead of a concession speech. Fuck you, Trump.

On NPR this morning, they played audio from a rally where Pence was speaking. A mother whose son is currently serving asked about the level of respect (or lack thereof) der Drumpfenfuhrer has shown our military. And she got BOOED.

The more I hear about his campaign, the more I just want him to get absolutely curb-stomped in the election. Goldwater-in-1964 stomped.

This is the only way this goes down with Trump blowing up everything with his accusations, lawsuits and “civil disobedience”. A landslide election, a Goldwater level ass kicking.

That’s why we need those unconstitutional exclusionary voter ID laws...to prevent the virtually non-existant voter fraud that’s running rampant in this country.

But the EC doesn’t vote until after the election and that is more or less a formality.

It is more plausible for a party to rig a primary than someone to rig the general election.

Gee, now my joke is RUINED. I hope you’re happy with yourself.

And if you want to be overly earnest, the EC is completely unregulated and could well be far from a formality, videlicet Richard Johnson in 1936 and Lloyd Bentsen in 1988.
