As a Kentucky voter, I’m just going to go out on a limb here and say that while you might not be wrong in terms of our POTUS votes (we’re consistently red), you’d do yourself a favor (in terms of personal knowledge and not looking like a part-for-whole-thinking jackass) to have a look at how local elections generally turn out.

...apart from the last one, anyhow; Bevin remains a sore spot for many of us, but we only had a 23% registered Democrat turnout in the last gurbernatorial election. Rather than painting us all as a bunch of racist hillbillies, you might at least do us the courtesy of lambasting the lackadaisacal “oh, it’s cool, that Repub will never win” assholes who refuse to show up for the fucking vote.

Also, fuck off with that part for whole bullshit, kthx.

Y’all voted for Romney, y’all elected Matt Bevin, y’all are voting for McConnell and Paul, you’re gonna vote for Trump.

So, yeah, on the whole, Kentucky voters are doing a shitty job.

His Halloween costume was literally debt.

In zee end, maybe the monsters we rail against the most are the monsters who live within us. The monsters of our own making, who we project outwards and conspicuously battle with, in a failed pantomime of our own self righteousness.

No Republican should complain about the national debt because when Clinton left office there was a surplus that they blew up. They controlled all of the branches of power and we went from surplus to deficit. Obama had to deal with the worst economy in 80 years.

They only care about the debt when a Democrat is in the White House.

If only these moochers would pull themselves up by their bootstraps and stop dragging our economy down, our country would be so much better off.

“We as Republicans need to realize that you can’t just cut off the welfare queen and balance the budget,” says Rand Paul, a Senate candidate in Kentucky.

I am sure that Rand Paul’s sense of personal responsibility and third individualism means he will fulfill his obligations and pay off his debts, without taking a handout from corrupt crony capitalists.

Yet another fiscally responsible patriot who can’t even balance a checkbook, much less a budget.

Really hard to make ends meet when you use fantasy books in place of macroeconomic textbooks.

Campaign debts can be tricky. It’s hard to get people to donate to a losing candidate, especially when the election itself was already over.

For example, It took around four years for Hillary Clinton to pay off her campaign committee’s debt from 2008.

This is a big part of why losing candidates always “suspend” their campaigns rather than ending them when they drop out. It’s not that they plan on hipping back in the race, but because they can’t actually end their campaigns formally with the FEC until they settle all their debts.
