In fairness, Dead Harambe has some very provocative ideas on handling ISIS.

I don’t think we can just rule him out as a novelty.

Ashley, as I recall, you once said that “Harambe is in Hell where he belongs”.

Do you stand by that statement?

    WELL, DO YOU, ASHLEY?

I like the fact that Americans trust a child-mauling gorilla more than they trust Jill Stein.

Obviously — a gorilla would never be pro-Brexit, then reverse himself and try to delete his previous posts in order to claim he never said that.

Americans probably recognize Harambe’s name more than they recognize Jill Stein’s. Hell, I spend a lot of time following politics and I’m still not sure who Jill Stein actually is (besides Franken’s bride, of course).

Trevor Noah is no Jon Stewart, but when he’s right, he’s right. Particularly when it comes to providing an outsider’s perspective on the election & polling.

As an outsider I can absolutely tell you that I never could have thought Americans would vote in the likes of Trump as a viable candidate for the Presidency.

No snark, just shock and worry for both your country and the rest of the world.

Oh, I don’t think the majority of the country believed it was possible, either. That’s exactly how it happened.

If he had been running against one or two Republicans from the start, and not a field of 19 until very late in the game, he would’ve received more scrutiny & gotten to the point he’s at now sooner (where people are starting to take how dangerous he is seriously).

My favorite thing so far in this fairly shitty 2016 has easily been Harambe’s meteoric ascent to Weird Twitter stardom.

As for 2016, I like that Slate article where historians nominated the “worst years ever in human history” and everyone agreed that a year that was DEFINITELY worse than 2016 was 72,000 BC where a volcano erupted and nearly everybody died.

So? A much, much larger percentage of Americans would vote for the son of an orangutan for President. You know who you are.

I know this isn’t the point of the article, but I hate hate hate that this release is 42 damn pages long, and it doesn’t have a single sentence saying how this poll was conducted. Was it online? Was it random digit dialing? Were participants reimbursed? What was their response rate? All these numbers are pretty much meaningless without knowing these things.

It’s one of the things that is annoying about Public Policy Polling, all they say about their methods is:

Public Policy Polling surveyed 1,276 likely voters on July 29th and 30th. The margin of error is +/-2.7%. 80% of participants, selected through a list based sample, responded via the phone, while 20% of respondents who did not have landlines conducted the survey over the internet through an opt-in internet panel

Which doesn’t even answer all of your very basic questions.

“Selected through a list-based sample” is a shady way of saying “convenience sample,” which is a way of saying “none of these numbers mean anything.”
