Shahid Khan also created thousands of jobs. He’s a Pakistani Muslim who immigrated to this country, went to the University of Illinois, and ended up starting Flex-N-Gate, which employs thousands.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shahid_Khan

Unlike Trump, he didn’t inherit a lot of money, nor did he have a father that put forward a business model to follow in order to be successful. He’s 84th on the Forbes 400 list due to his own hard work and intelligence.

Trump’s policies would prevent people like this from moving to the U.S.

Man, I SO want more actual billionaires - who indeed built their own wealth from very modest-to-no beginnings - to start calling out Trump on his mostly bullshit “fortune” and “tremendous business.”

Bloomberg was a good start. Keep ‘em coming.

Holy shit, really!? I know that Harris county usually is a blue county oasis in a desert of red, but that’s pretty big news. I wish I subscribed to them, I would have liked to read that. Gonna see if I can pull that up online.

Wow. It certainly isn’t! That’s genuinely surprising. I mean, yes, they’re just endorsing sanity, but still.

“I think I’ve made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard. I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures. I’ve had tremendous success. I think I’ve done a lot.”

We may now officially add sacrifice to the ever-growing list of words that Donald Trump doesn’t understand.

I mean...he could have imported slave labor, but instead he hired people that he didn’t pay. It was a big sacrifice for him.

Never mind the fact that he doesn’t pay most of the people whose “jobs” he created.

You guys STILL don’t get it. He’s not saying any of this to gain any new supporters. His base eats this up, his voters would be mad if he said something vanilla, or read a prepared statement, or backed down from anything. His supporters laugh at how other politicians won’t even swear, never mind saying something beyond the pale. As always, fuck Trump, but none of what he says matters to anyone but the liberals and Billy Kristol.

But you have to distinguish between the passionate Trump supporters and the Republicans who are still holding their noses. He polls around 40% but that doesn’t mean 40% of people are eating this up. I totally agree with what you’re saying, but I think it only applies to...I don’t know...20% of people? The other 20% may really hate Hillary and be passionate conservatives, but they can still get picked off from voting for Trump.

Yes, and nothing can be said to his supporters to end their support. But 20% of voters can’t tell the difference between a hot bag of diarrhea and a moderate wonk. These kinds of stories do impact them and will move them toward the moderate.

He’s seriously just conflated military service to running a business.

I don’t even know why I’m surprised by anything he says anymore but sometimes just how egotistical he is astounds me.

The whole businessperson as governmental candidate thing continues to surprise me. Not only the military, it isn’t relevant experience for any branch! Government is public service, oriented not toward profit but to the greater good.

Yet businesspeople keep running, as if they’ll somehow know what they’re doing because they were able to do this unrelated thing. Then when they get elected, predictably enough, they run government like it’s a business, and it’s predictably disastrous every time.

And the people keep falling for it. I don’t think pointing out the dichotomy would even resonate now - the way to go at Trump on this more likely is to point out that he actually kinda sucks as a businessman.

What baffles me beyond everything else is that this motherfucker had TWO WHOLE DAYS to process how conservatives treated Ann Coulter for the shit she said denigrating Mr. Khan, and he still shot his mouth off like the imbecile he is.

Ghazala spoke in this interview, but ended up sobbing. Perhaps that’s why she didn’t want to speak at the convention, not because MUSLIMS, as Trump suggests.

I really don’t even know what to say at this point. He’s shitting on the family of a war hero to make his polling better. How shit can you get?

And also fully nonsensical. How many speeches has he given with Melania standing silently behind him? And every other politician with their spouse? It’s not even kind of abnormal.

See, he totally scarified! He gave those people jobs that they could put on their resumes! And they repaid his generosity by going to the press and suing him for not paying them. They don’t understand, working for Trump is it’s own reward. Jerks.
