Guess the question become, what the hell to do about this? We can’t very well have foreign countries attempting to influence our elections nor can you prove without a doubt who was behind the attack. Its 98% probably the Russians, but what are we gonna do? Sanction them over this?

I would say lets have the NSA run the computer networks for all campaigns as part of the federal funding package, but that seems like a sketchy idea too. Tough to keep out hackers who have basically an unlimited budget and manpower to work with. Look at Stuxnet... we infiltrated that shit into closed computer networks. What the hell chance does something connected to the internet and accessed by volunteers have?

Yup, can't have other counties meddling in the elections of other nations. Not at all. That would be bad.

It was hacked...the state department release said Clinton staffers had to deliver messages in person saying not to email Clinton because the server was under attack.

Luckily Hillary’s IT procedures were by the book, air tight and whatever else is the opposite of extremely careless. Nothing to worry about.

They just want to sow chaos. It’s something that they do in a lot of other countries using similar methods. They believe — rightly or wrongly — that strengthening Donald Trump will make American politics even more chaotic which can only leave us weaker and less able to challenge Russian activities in the world. I don’t think they have any formal alliance with Trump or any ideological kinship with him; they just believe that the more bruising this election the weaker whoever wins will be.

If they believe that, they are fools. Obama was mad a stronger president by his tests in the primaries and general, and so will Hillary Clinton. I don’t think this is what’s going on. They know Hillary Clinton and what’s she’s made of...and that’s why they are trying to keep her out of office.

They are not doing this out of a position of strength, but of desperation. It’s pretty well documented during her time as SoS that they view her personally as a direct threat to their desire to expand their influence and power around the globe. They are not doing this lightly or without a plan.

If Putin or any other top Russian official is reading this, I would like to encourage you to use your resources to hack into the e-mails from the last few years of Governor Rick Snyder regarding the Flint water crisis.

Many of us in Michigan would be extremely supportive and grateful for your actions.

That was like a week ago though. Many people didn’t consciously suspect that Trump was actually, literally a Manchurian candidate figure.

In this election year of implausible, almost insultingly contrived plot twists that one just seemed too lame to be believed. How many people, last year or even last week really thought that the U.S. was at serious risk of becoming a Russian satellite state?

On the bright side, at least we’ll all get great jobs at the munitions factories and military barracks once the United Soviet States of America and its new ally Russia declare war on NATO.

lol @ all of this victim blaming. If this would have happened to anyone else everyone would be beside themselves with condemnation for the hackers. But, yeah, this is Clinton’s fault. Okay. lol The fucking, more-amoral-than-the-American-government Russians are exclusively hacking the accounts of only one half of the political spectrum (our half), but it’s all “Did you see what her accounts were wearing?”

Get the ever-loving fuck out of here with that bullshit. Delete your accounts...all of them.

It’s always been like this with the Clintons. Dems under 30 won’t remember, but they can google Clinton Derangement Syndrome. It’s real and it’s still out there.

Back in the 90s Bill was accused of the following:

      — As governor, Bill Clinton murdered many rivals. Hillary Clinton was involved.

      — As first lady, Hillary Clinton was involved in Vince Foster’s death.

      — As governor, Bill Clinton trafficked drugs through Mena, Arkansas.

      — Bill Clinton was himself a major coke user. It’s why his nose is so red.

      — As a graduate student, Bill Clinton visited Moscow because he was a Soviet agent (or something).

      — The Clintons decorated the White House Christmas tree with condoms and drug paraphernalia.

Recall that there was an actual Independent Counsel investigation into Vince Foster’s suicide.

All of these claims, of course, proved to be bogus.

End result: I will never take at face value any claim made about the Clintons, unless the accuser has actual footage of them committing the crime. The right-wing spent too many years crying wolf over these two - I can’t take their accusations seriously.

The Clintons may not be saints, but they’ve been more thoroughly investigated than any other pair of politicians in US and all their accusers have to show for it is a lie about an illicit BJ and an unauthorized email server. Forgive me, but my capacity to give a shit about “Clinton misdeeds” gave up and died somewhere around the time Jerry Falwell started accusing them of being drug mules.

Putin knows what an utter Stooge Trump is. The guy would sell the nuclear codes for personal gain. And at this point, it’s fairly obvious that Trump is into the Russians for Millions. I think they are helping his attain the Presidency because they have him by the short and curlies. It IS frightening.

A good look at Why Putin Prefers Trump:

From the very beginning of his presidency, Putin has bet on personal relationships with world leaders as the basis for his foreign policy. It is almost as if he has tried to recruit all of them, trying to find each one’s personal key. He realized very quickly that all foreign leaders can be divided up into two important categories: those who believe in certain values (usually, democratic ones) and those who are totally cynical, concerned with self-advancement and power for its own sake. Sooner or later, attempts to build a relationship with leaders of the first category run aground on the rocks of mutual incomprehension. With leaders of the latter category, everything is on the table....

Trump fits perfectly into that worldview. He’s a cynic who doesn’t appear to care about international moral issues like human rights. He’s a populist who doesn’t pretend to be a saint. He’s a normal businessman with whom you can always cut a deal—as he has said himself many, many times. And if necessary, as Putin seems to believe, one could figure out how to carve up the world with Trump. At least he won’t lie to you and fill your ears with nonsense about democratic values.
