This story is harrowing. The worst (albeit not surprising) part is probably this bit:

"As she was promoted through the ranks at Fox, Luhn worked harder and harder to please Ailes. She zealously promoted the network’s right-wing agenda. “I was very proud of the product. I was very proud of how we handled 9/11. Very proud of how we handled the run-up to the Iraq War,” she said. “My job was to sell the war. I needed to get people on the air that were attractive and articulate and could convey the importance of this campaign. It was a drumbeat.”"

I agree that was the worst part, and what makes it harder for me to have too much sympathy for her. When you think about it, in her position as booker of pretty people to talk up the Iraq war, she probably had as much influence in the selling of the war as Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, or any of the principals.

Who does Fox News want watching? Wealthy, angry old white men who miss the days where they could pinch a cute subordinate’s ass without the sass and tell jokes about kikes and coloreds in the break room. Roger Ailes was the perfect man for the job; a one-man focus group.

    He allegedly convinced Luhn to “recruit” other female subordinates, which meant placing them in situations, such as an after-work meeting in his private office, where they would be vulnerable to his sexual entreaties;

That is textbook psychosexual manipulation. If she is telling the story then the spell is broken and she is deeply ashamed of what she did. She fells bad enough to let these atrocities in her life become public knowledge.

Hannibal Lecter: No “just”, Clarice. What set you off? You started at what time?

    Clarice Starling: Early, still dark.

Hannibal Lecter: Then something woke you, didn’t it? Was it a dream? What was it?

Clarice Starling: I heard a strange noise.

    Hannibal Lecter: What was it?

Clarice Starling: It was... screaming. Some kind of screaming, like a child’s voice.

Hannibal Lecter: What did you do?

Clarice Starling: I went downstairs, outside. I crept up into the barn. I was so scared to look inside, but I had to.

Hannibal Lecter: And what did you see, Clarice? What did you see?

Clarice Starling: Lambs. The lambs were screaming.

Hannibal Lecter: They were slaughtering the spring lambs?

Clarice Starling: And they were screaming.

Hannibal Lecter: And you ran away?

Clarice Starling: No. First I tried to free them. I... I opened the gate to their pen, but they wouldn’t run. They just stood there, confused. They wouldn’t run.

Hannibal Lecter: But you could and you did, didn’t you?

Clarice Starling: Yes. I took one lamb, and I ran away as fast as I could.

Hannibal Lecter: Where were you going, Clarice?

Clarice Starling: I don’t know. I didn’t have any food, any water and it was very cold, very cold. I thought, I thought if I could save just one, but... he was so heavy. So heavy. I didn’t get more than a few miles when the sheriff’s car picked me up. The rancher was so angry he sent me to live at the Lutheran orphanage in Bozeman. I never saw the ranch again.

Hannibal Lecter: What became of your lamb, Clarice?

    Clarice Starling: They killed him.

Or, you know, the fact that most guys above a certain age behaved in deeply sexist ways for many years when there were no consequences.

Women who are older than 50 know this. Even the men who were celebrated for being ‘feminist’ in the 1970s were frequently pigs in their personal lives.

Sexual harassment is alive and well and it’s the same guy, different year. He’s not pinching butts anymore, but he’s still showing up at your desk to make you uncomfortable.

In my experience, it’s the family men, the churchgoers and the pillar of the community types who are the worst offenders.

They also think they’re great guys and you should be so lucky to have such a good man throwing his 300-lb dad bod at you and offering to drive his minivan in from the suburbs to take you out when his wife’s not around.

Generally it's not tried as rape. Extortion though, this could count as that.

Not legally, rape usually is defined to involve PIV sex. This is usually tried under forcible sodomy or similar.

But in human terms, yeah, it’s rape.

Edit: whoops, forgot about the coerced sex with another woman. Probably also legally rape there.
