Interesting! No, the other one. Tedious.Ashley Feinberg

Quick question: What percentage of Americans have any (I mean any) real idea of what TPP even is. Like, at all. And I mean including people who, nevertheless, have shockingly strong opinions about it. My guess is a very small number, and it’s bizarre to me how much it gets thrown around in discussion, like, yeah that thing. I . . . I have THOUGHTS about that thing. Oh, yes I do, mhmm.

PS: How many people think it’s a pipeline?

    PSS: Is it a pipeline?

The TPP is just a mascot at this point. Anti-trade, anti-globalization, isolationist fetishists on both the right and the left see it as a symbol of everything that’s wrong with the world.

And yes, it’s a pipeline. Definitely.

Of course one objection to this deal (and others like it) is that negotiations are done entirely in secret, which breeds mistrust, and allows people to assume the worst. What was tried with TPP was secret negotiation followed by fast track approval, which would have been bad.

FWIW, I’d like to see stronger environmental and worker protections (if a country’s competitive advantages are that they are willing to destroy the environment and treat their workers like shit, I don’t see why we should want to compete with them). I hate the IP rules in the agreement (which follow a long line of always harmonising on the strictest rules). This is great for Hollywood and the pharmaceuticals industry (which is why we push for it), but bad for consumers.

“Making a late-night appearance at a post-DNC party early this morning, a vivacious and enthusiastic Governor Terry McAuliffe asserted to Gawker not only that Hillary Clinton is not at risk of changing her position on TPP, but that she had ‘never supported it and never would.’”

Is “vivacious and enthusiastic” code for “drunk and high?”

      They are both liars.

If it is possible for both of them to be lying about the same topic then that is where you should place your bets.

Yeah, Hillary was openly pro-TPP in the first edition of her Hard Choices book, and now she’s anti-TPP. So saying she was “always against it” is certainly stretching the truth.

But getting someone lying on the record is still a good get! I'm guessing he got a stern talking to from the Clinton camp after his previous remarks.

Hey, look everyone: more inane, inconsequential bullshit packaged in a viral-friendly format from people who have no idea what they’re talking about! Just what America needs in 2016!

Yeah, don’t flush those; they combine into a giant spider in the sewers, which then disguises itself as a clown and goes around killing people.

That was the plot to “It”, right?

Surprising that someone who is so uptight about the T.P.P. was so supportive of O.P.P

Every time I get a little more comfortable about HRC and doing anything more than holding my nose and voting for her, this jackass shows back up to remind what I find so grating about the Clinton establishment.

I’m sure many of you are wondering “how the hell did this guy become governor of Virginia?” Aside from the bestie-benefits, its a very simple answer. He ran against Cruz’s homeboy, Ken Cuccinelli. Easy choice.
