In case anyone doubted him on Monday when he said he was the most disappointed by his defeat, here’s the proof. The fact that he chose to swallow his pride and endorse Hillary despite that pain, despite their differences, and despite the DNC’s unfair treatment of his campaign, is a testament to his dedication as an advocate and his integrity as a man. Everyone, no matter who they support, ought to display the same kind of moral fiber in the name of their convictions.

See that episode of Veep where Selina tore that Congresswoman a new asshole for reneging on an endorsement by telling her how rough life would be for her career? Yeah, like that.

This is so true. I don’t know how a man like this survives in politics. I would be a raving lunatic setting what’s left of my prematurely all grey hair on fire, not sitting respectfully watching someone he doesn't respect.

He can’t even pretend to be grateful when a former political rival in front of a national audience takes a moment to praise him.

That’s fine when you took second place at a athletic event and you stand stoically on the medal platform. This is a national election.

Bernie, I was one of the first folks to donate money to your campaign and this saltiness is what I would expect out of the high school kids I coach.

Oh, I love him in part because he’s a crusty old bastard.

Only the crusty bastards can get away with saying the things he has.

This is just the kind of “politics” that gets mastered when you are in your 20's working to take over the Student Life Committee.

That’s the face of regret and realization that you just sold out everything you stood for and millions of new voters to endorse a liar. This will damage the Democratic party for years

I dont know if ill ever have the chance to vote for a man like him again. Im so proud to have done what i could, and disappointed in myself that i didnt do more. In a world that seems to have forgotten that there is nothing of calue in this world without workers, Bernie Sanders has spent his career fighting for workers, rather than lining his pockets. A social democrat from brooklyn. Goddamn.

    Bernie is the best.

Keep in mind though, Bernie was a guest.

He was an independent, the DNC allowed him to run as a Democrat, but he had to know that ALL of the cards were, not only stacked, but all glued together against him.

So, now he’s left the Democratic Party. The DNC was sure that he was going to take a powder and blow off party standards if he were to be nominated.

So the reality is, and the unadulterated fact remains, Bernie Sanders could never really be a contender within the Democratic Party unless he took it over with an overwhelming majority of Super Delegates.

He didn’t even get out of the box. 642 Clinton vs 48 Sanders.

I love Bernie, I wish he could have been President.

A tearful goodbye Bernie, you are the best, but you somehow forgot that you were really just a guest.

My question is will he stay a Dem to try to change things from within or will he go back to being an independent after Nov? We will see.

He left the Democratic Party two days ago.

He returns to work in Washington DC, this week, as an esteemed US Senator from Vermont, and again, an Independent. That’s how he was elected, and that’s how he will finish his term.

Damn, that’s the EXACT same face make when I’m reading the letter saying my health insurance has declined to pay for my father’s medical procedure, and we have to take out a crippling loan or he dies.

Resting reading-the-letter-saying-my-health-insurance-has-declined-to pay-for-my-father’s-medical-procedure-and-we-have-to-take-out-a crippling-loan-or-he-dies face is a real-life chronic condition that most socialists including myself are either born with or develop shortly after reading Das Kapital at the end of 12th grade. Not only does it cause us to come across as perpetually anguished, but it also typically makes us look at least three times our actual age.

Bernie’s just probably thinking about how far away he parked the car and if he should cut as soon as soon as Hillary’s done talking about him in order to beat traffic.
