My condolences to this family, my gratitude to their son, and my allegiance and solidarity with all Muslims who, like them, do pledge their allegiance to the flag of the United States, and to upholding the US Constitution.

But if this man thinks that Trump wants to oust “Americans,” he may need to check his definition of the word. And if his problem is Donald Trump’s intentions to stop importing people from countries which are hotbeds of radical Islamist terrorism - then this man is simply wrong.

Germany is having almost daily terrorist attacks from Syrian immigrants. Our intelligence agencies have warned that they have no way to accurately vet immigrants. And yet, Obama is bringing in 10,000 Syrian refugees. And Hillary says she would up it to 65,000 refugees.

Donald Trump has said he would pause immigration from countries with ties to terrorism, at least until we have a way to vet those who intend to come here.

America should have an immigration policy which benefits Americans. If you don’t understand that, or don’t agree with it - please never vote.

Of course, it won’t do anything to show reason to his followers, but then again, nothing will. So many of the “new vintage” citizens I know are absolutely horrified by the rise of Donald Trump - not necessarily because of his anti-immigration rhetoric, but because he’s precisely the kind of dangerously self-absorbed wanna-be dictator that they came to the US to escape. And they’re also far more aware of the intricacies of the Constitution and American history than most of the “rull ‘Muricans” who hammer Trump signs into their front lawns. The process to becoming a citizen is arduous and expensive. My immigrant friends are some of the most devoted flag-fliers I know.

I really thought this was going to be the slow night of speakers. If only to help boost Hillary’s speech by comparison.

Instead, it’s been another night of great speeches. My favorite moment was Kareem’s MJ joke. And the Medal of Honor winner who just talked right over the miniature protestors trying to dishonor him. And the Khans, and the sheriff, and the pizza kids.

It’s not even worth making jokes about the utter lameness of the RNC. I’m not saying these DNC speakers don’t have plenty of flaws and foibles. But wasting any time on the RNC at this point is simply disrespectful to the hard work that went into these four nights.
