This is nice, Ashley, but can we get serious for a moment? Can we talk about the real issue and how Bernie was not given a fair shake? Can we talk about the emails where the DNC was discussing bringing up his religion, of all things, in a secular country where decisions are made by facts and reason and not based on morals? Can we pause, just briefly, so we can talk about the important issues at stake, like how Bernie supporters have suddenly become persona non-grata in a supposedly democratic party simply by virtue of losing an election? A lot of ink is being devoted to Trump, but I feel like no one is speaking about the real issues facing our country, Ashley. What about weed, Ashley?

True. Donald Trump is Donald Trump’s only message. I like to think before sleep every night, he has one assistant whisper in his ear how many Google hits he got that day followed by how many major news publication stories mentioned him, while a second assistant jerks him off, holding a laptop in place so he doesn’t have to stop tweeting. A third assistant holds his hair in place, while Melania watches, filing her nails and plotting her escape. The third assistant waits until just the right moment before slowly lowering a picture of Trump himself in front of his face, at which point he can finally climax.

Rinse and repeat every night. Our future president! :D

  Nightmare indeed. The saddest thing about all this, this nightmare of an election season is, even if trump is categorically destroyed and left shamed by an overwhelming loss, he still gets to go back to being a narcissistic billionaire who won’t stop trolling the world. This is a win-win situation for him, there really is nothing for him to lose. Unlike the rest of us.

  There is another scene from the Simpsons which sums up Trump completely. It is from the very early Simpsons years (when Spy was calling Trump the Short Fingered Vulgarian). It is a flashback to when Bart was 2, and he is in diapers, marching around the house with a pot on his head, hitting another pot with a spoon and yelling "I am great, I am great, everybody loves me, I am great."

  This would ideally be a chance to ask things like “Hey you said you never met Putin, but before said you really got to know him, then said you had no idea who Putin, the Russian President, even is. What’s the deal with that?” Or, “Hey did you really just ask a foreign government to conduct a cyber-attack on the US?” But being in r/The_Donald I’m sure it’ll just be like “Hey, are you going to #MAGA?” “Yes, you know I have the best ideas and words and I’m building a wall and America will be law and order and great again thank you for your support.”

I hope the Trump fans are enjoying their high water mark right now. The RNC convention bounce - this is as close as the polls are going to get for Trump. It’s all down hill from here, after his disastrous press conference today.

Of course, his supporters aren’t bright enough to understand the implications of what he was saying today, but it’s all about the independents. They’re going to start breaking hard for Clinton after seeing how weak Trump is making himself look.

I can’t wait for the debates.

  Sam Wang says that Trump’s election bounce was relatively small (the median of the polls is ~1 point). Trump is either just barely in the lead or even with Clinton, which is a bad showing, especially since he was already trending higher against her just prior to the RNC.
  
  For comparison’s sake, Romney got a ~2 point bounce after the 2012 RNC . But Trump is about 9 points behind Romney in states the latter won.
  
  No matter what Trumpanzees and disappointed Berners say, the dumpster fire that was the 2016 RNC did not help Trump at all. And the DNC is already shaping up to be more of a success, despite the problematic opening. I bet Clinton will get a bigger bounce from it and regain/maintain her lead over Trump.
  
  I agree with you that she’ll probably kick his ass all over the debate stage. The sad (sad!) part is that he and his fans will probably come out of it thinking he won. It’s gonna be so great to hear their howls of anguish when Hillary wins in November.

  I hope you’re right, but I really do think this email thing is going to haunt her with voters. I guess that’s why there are so many undecideds right now. I do expect many of them to break for her as we get nearer to the election once they start paying attention to just truly how unqualified Trump is to be handling any kind of high office. Hopefully, the debates will prove to be the clincher, but crazier things have happened. NBC news has an article up now quoting Dems fears that Assange/Russia is holding onto some huge email surprise for October.

This is so, so, so important for people to see. No, he’s not crazy like a fox (News). No, this is not 11-dimensional chess. No, Donald Trump is not some evil genius. So, the worry warts can stop overplaying his abilities.

Donald Trump is a needy, clingy asshole with no discipline. And like a parasite with a compound eye trying to find his way outside of a body, he’s burrowing his way up through the flesh to follow the light. He is not complicated, and he shouldn’t be ascribed such complicated motives.
