You are so not fucking helping right now.

This sort of wonky bullshit is great for blog posts, but there are two options, a man who thinks the Geneva Conventions are both out-of-date and can be re-negotiated and Hillary Clinton.

At this point, I don’t really give a shit about corrupt politics the DNC has been dealing. I’ll care after the election and I sure as shit hope they are held to the grindstone once that happens, but Trump is not a sane person.

He. Is not. Sane. He is a madman.

He must be stopped at all costs.

This is an extremely dangerous attitude, and certainly not one to be proud of.

From a strictly journalistic perspective: so fucking what?

Well, Mr. Nolan, one tiny footnote to this perspective is the person who benefits most from this scenario is exactly the one whose view of the press makes Thiel’s attitude and activities look like measured restraint.

So yes, feed the journalistic frenzy while you can, because if things go poorly, you’ll be clapped in irons and waterboarded for publishing anything remotely like this after Jan. 20, 2017.

It’s crazy that we have to say this but: the press’s job is not “Defeat Donald Trump.” It’s to publish newsworthy things. The publication of newsworthy things contributes, in aggregate, to the public’s understanding of truth. The public’s understanding of truth will then allow the public to make an informed decision.

If you want the media to actively conceal newsworthy facts for political ends, you do not believe in a free press, and you do not believe in freedom of information.

As far as I’ve seen, the story seems to be: An independent tried to run as a Democrat, and the establishment favored their candidate over him. To which I say ‘So fucking what?’.

Does the DNC owe a candidate anything? Are they supposed to be unbiased bastions of hope for anyone attempting to run? What if a Republican decided to run as a Democrat, would we expect the DNC to support them equally? In my opinion, the answer to all of these questions is a resounding no.

Bernie should have run as a 3rd party candidate. He didn’t, because he knew he would get more publicity and recognition running as a Democrat. Now that he lost, people want to complain about favoritism.

Except the DNC always proclaimed it was acting with neutrality. Your argument might hold up if the DNC had been open about what it was doing—-and said it was doing so because he wasn’t really a Democrat.

Eh, I don’t know about that though.

Comparing the news value of the contents of the hack with the news value that a foreign power was willing to meddle in our electoral affairs is kind of tough.

Sanders probably would have lost, and it should come as no shock that an institution he blasted constantly on the campaign trail, and has never really been a great friend to over the decades, was biased against him. Sure seeing the receipts for that makes it impossible for people like DWS to play coy about it, but the net result of it all shouldn’t be too shocking.

Russia meddling in quite this spectacularly visible a fashion with our presidential election on the other hand? The implications on a global level of that are hard to tease out but they could be rather large.

      Yep.

When that happens many people in that country consider it a big deal and are understandably mistrustful of the people we choose to support.

Remember, we’re talking newsworthiness here, not whether America has a right to be morally outraged at Russia for engaging in this kind of meddling.

yeah what about a narrative where two important facts aren’t “competing” with each other in some kind of weird battle for relevance. I can consider the active bias of the Democratic Party bad AND the intervention into our political process by a foreign dictator/ human rights violator bad AND keep breathing and circulating blood and digesting food all at the same time!

One of the advantages of being a sentient human and not a fucking amoeba.

Hamilton, as the date of your unemployment draws ever closer, your articles are becoming increasingly full of shit.

No one, anywhere, is arguing that it shouldn’t be reported on.

Quite a few of us are concerned that a Russian spy agency is actively interfering with our elections in a coordinated manner and quite possibly have deep financial hooks into a POTUS nominee running on a platform of white nationalism and aggressive foreign policy.

Some of us are concerned because little shit-pots like you, who’s only job is essentially to piss people off to drive page clicks, are pushing literal conspiracy theories about the DNC from these emails.

Remember, this is one of the same idiots who though posting the Hogan tape was a good idea. Now he’s comparing domestic whistleblowers on civil liberties to foreign governments attempting to tamper with elections using questionable information.

Enjoy the Gawker sell-off, I’m certain you’ll end up on your feet at a comprable outlet.

Rude. This is the revolution we wanted to bring to the Democratic party. Maybe it didn’t play out the way we wanted it to, via an election, but everyone makes mistakes. It is up to us to learn from them and the lesson here is that civilization, at bottom, is nothing but a colossal swindle. So to the grifter goes the spoils.

Any stick to beat a horse, though, right? lol Russia’s probably trying to directly influence our presidential election, but the real news is that the DNC maybe wasn’t crazy about a independent trying to hijack their party’s political apparatus for a presidential run and a complete reconstruction of their party, right? Vladi Poots is one of the biggest thugs in the world, but DWS was mean to Bernie so that matters more, right?

It’s what happens when you’re a hyper-partisan fanboy for a particular candidate in a primary. I don’t expect them to report on primaries like the mainstream media, but damn, have some kind of objectivity. Like I said, the minute it was pretty clear Bernie wasn’t going to win this (and that was months ago, now), they probably should have just taken the loss and moved on to something else.
