Jesus; this fucking case was a disgraceful travesty; how is it that NONE of those cops who killed this young man CANNOT be held responsible for it?

Because the prosecution failed to prove anyone was criminally responsible for anything beyond a reasonable doubt. The arrest was not false, the method of transport was not negligent, there was no evidence they wanted him harmed.

Simply, they cannot be held responsible because nothing proves that they are, despite a large number of people believing they are guilty of something.

Nothing apparently proved OJ was guilty either.

When Hillary wins the Oval Office she really needs to consider Moseby for Attorney General. Stuff like this just can’t happen anymore. This was calculated murder on the part of the Baltimore PD.

Glad you think so because one jury couldn’t come to a decision and the others, a judge said otherwise. Simply put, the burden is on the prosection and they didn’t meet it. You can’t called it calculated murder because that is not what legally happened.

Well, this is the obvious flaw in the trial by jury system. Juries are made up of flawed, racist people sometimes.

Turns out his bike just caught a flat and they were giving him a ride to Bible study. Nice to know that nothing bad happened and everybody did the right thing.

In other news, charges that had no legal support dropped for not having legal support.

    Good.

If there were 500 officers involved and they all got cleared would that be enough for you jamokes to believe there was no wrongdoing?

What are the chances/possibility they can reinstate charges later? I just assumed this was a move to take more time to build stronger cases against remaining defendents (in light of the results of intitial cases) when I first saw headline, but see no mention of that in the story.

They can't press charges against the three officers who were acquitted of course. They could bring the charges again in theory for the ones who haven't been tried yet but the problem is that there isn't enough evidence for a conviction. It is unlikely that there will somehow be more evidence later.

“...They could bring the charges again in theory for the ones who haven’t been tried yet...”

Except those three are minor characters in the whole situation and never were worth pursuing in the first place.

You do realize that numerous people are injured, and even killed, on a daily basis in this country under circumstances where prosecutors never even contemplate trying to hold anyone criminally liable, right? Not every act of negligence is criminally prosecutable.

Oh, boy. A lot of people are going to be losing their jobs over this. But not the people who should be losing their jobs.

It’s very Murder on the Orient Express, isn’t it? Except that there’s no Poirot to go after the six officers and prove that they all did it....

I wonder if this kind of methodology is how the police have been getting away with this stuff for years....
