      I hate the fact that they need this. I hate the fact that their children were taken from them needlessly. I especially hate the fact, that nothing really seems to happen to those who have taken their children from them. This high profile event is a good way of getting their message out. Not that “just” black lives matter, but that they matter just as much as white lives. We’ve treated blacks horribly from day 1 here, and it’s time that it ends.

      I do hope that Clinton will carry that torch forward. As well as pick up one that Sanders had championed. That of looking after, and taking better care of the native americans we forced to live on reservations.

      Trayvon Martin died when he decided to go out of his way, assault a private citizen, try to bash his head into the pavement and then get shot by the citizen in self-defense.

      Which was proven as much in court.

      He wasn’t an innocent angel, he was just a punk for whom “Keepin’ It Real” finally went wrong.

        2. Tamir’s story- 99.999999% of kids will listen to a Police Officer’s instructions—if they’re given the chance.

          1) Total speculation. He didn’t draw the gun as he left the car, therefore he was not depending on the gun to keep him safe.He didn’t draw the gun when he was initially confronted. Argue about fighting for control of a gun after George was attacked and whether Trayvon would have stopped bashing while George was conscious or kept on until brain death; the gun wasn’t what motivated George, it was that his neighbors had recently been invaded by robbers that got him out of the vehicle.*

          2) Those two cops should have gotten man 2. They hunted and murdered Tamir hoping to be heroes without regard to public safety. The triggerman even twisted an ankle severely during his hasty and ill-planned exit from the car.

          3) I’d rather not.

        I was going to say at first, that this group is superior to BLM because they aren’t just focusing on the relatively small number of people killed by police, but gun violence in general.

        Then I watched the full video and realized it’s just more of the same, but includes non-black killers in addition to the police.

        Yes, there’s a problem with race in America. Yes, the police might be a little too quick on the trigger in many scenarios, but why do black lives only seem to matter when they’re taken by police (or with this group, anyone who isn’t also black)?

        10 times the number of PoC killed by police (including ones that were clearly in self defense) are killed by other PoC. For every mother of Freddie Grey, or Tamir Rice, there are 10 mothers who’ve lost a child to gang violence. It makes me sick to my stomach that nobody seems to want to work towards bringing that number down, and that even acknowledging the black on black murder rate is extremely out of proportion gets you labeled a racist. We all remember the Ferguson protests, but does anyone remember that a 9 year old girl was murdered just after the last one, in August of last year?

            Trayvon Martin wasnt murdered. He was a punk who saw a fat little Mexican following him and decided to go thug/worldstarhiphop on his ass and got shot for his hood ways. Killed, but not murdered. And of course Clinton would try to use this organization as a political tool.
