After watching Franken’s speech, man do I wish he was the VP pick. I totally get why they didn’t pick him, but I’d love to see him vs. Mike Pence in a debate.

Me too! I always thought that to counter a reality TV star for president, you needed another TV person who was good enough, smart enough and, doggone it, somebody people like.

Unfortunately, for some reason, there’s a significant number of people who find him obnoxious. Even on the left. I never did. I love him. I listened to his Air America show almost every single day and laughed and laughed.

Here’s a bedtime story for all you Bernie kids. Long time ago, back in 1968, we had racial and civil unrest in the streets and it was time to pick a new president. The Republicans had Nixon. The Dems had a big old stable of candidates, one of whom was assassinated. The party ended up backing a guy named Hubert Humphrey, who was labeled as a terrible conservative tool of the system, so the younger set decided to back Eugene McCarthy in a big way. When he didn’t get the nomination, many of the “McCarthy Kids” picked up their toys and went home and skipped out on voting. And what did we end up with? Nixon. Nixon. Think on that, Bernie Kids. Don’t stomp out of the room and make the rest of us have to deal with a latter-day Nixon - Trump.

And Nixon went on to do some good things in China and then became a permanent stain on the republican party for evermore.

I love that story. It shows that the youth can make a positive difference.

I love Hillary, but if I were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, I’d think Bernie was the nominee, based on the applause he got when he came out. As much as I supported Hillary throughout the primary, Bernie’s candidacy feels like a missed opportunity.

If you were an alien visiting Earth for the first time, how would you understand that the convention was the culmination of a nomination process for a method of selecting an executive officer for a nation state?

We have television in Tau Ceti, dude. We very much enjoyed M*A*S*H’s depiction of primitive medical care, and we have high hopes that the Fresh Prince will prove equal to governing the Kingdom of Bel-Air.

I STILL think Lincoln Chafee is going to steal it at the end. Nobody is going to see it coming.

Honestly he might be the only candidate who can beat Trump. He has no ties to Debbie Wasserman Schultz (why would she bother?) The Republicans have no opposition research on him (why would they bother?) And if Trump goes after him he can just look surprised and wounded like a baby flamingo that just got kicked in the side, and instantly have the sympathy of all voters.

You’ve got it all wrong. Bernie has been working for Trump this whole time. And Trump as we all know was working for Hillary this whole time.

Ergo, Bernie is going to get Trump elected so that Hillary can use Trump to further her personal goals. Simple really.

I was pro-Bernie, but I know the show is over. And I'm legitimately mad at him for him endorsing delegates to vote for him tomorrow.

I just heard that too and I think that’s just so reckless. The Bernie Bros on the floor are going to burn the place down before they allow Hillary’s name to even be mentioned.
